Help - Do I tip for a pedicure ?

Ahh! I suck at this things . Im originally from Canada and have to tip for everything 🙄 I am confused about U.K. etiquette though .

I just booked a pedicure (£40) for later today . It’s not at a fancy spa but a slightly nicer place than the typical high street nail salon . I don't normally get a pedicure and because of Covid I prepaid online already . So I don’t even know if I can tip as I don’t think they take cash.

But let’s just say they do take take cash , would you tip and how much ?

Add on £5

Yes you should tip hairdressers, manicurist, people who do pedicures. 10% is a rough guide. The same in restaurants, if you can ever go to one again. I was horrified to discover that my American guests were tipping 25% which is the norm in the States.

Wait and see what the service is like! It is however truly optional and that does seem rather expensive.

Thanks everyone . It was a great experience and I tipped £5.
In my area the most basic of pedicures are £20 and I went for a “luxury” pedicure which was actually on offer for £40 ( I think it’s normally £50). I’m 9 months pregnant so it was a well deserved pampering ☺️
