Escentric Molecules Molecule 01 perfume!

OMG,

Received a free sample of this last week, Monday I thought I’d try it, I’ve never had so many compliments re a perfume! I absolutely love it, how have I not heard of it before?!

Throughout the day I can’t smell it anymore, yet when I walk past people ask me what I’m wearing? MIL came over last night and instantly asked yet I honestly couldn’t smell anything. I’m usually a Chanel girl but I can always smell that on myself, even late into the evening.

Anyone else like this perfume?

What is the difference between the two Number 1s and then all the other numbers? Not sure whether I want the whole set of samples if it is only the first two that are rated?

I'm intrigued by this, but how can you tell if you like it if you can't smell it on yourself?

I love it, but nobody else in the family like it on me - too different from my normal Chanel.
I think they just want me to smell like mummy!
My DH has zero sense of smell so wasted on him 😕

I went online to have a look and was wondering whether anyone has tried both Escentric 01 and Molecule 01 and if so, what did you feel the difference was and which did you prefer?

@Mummyonline so the Molecule 01 02 etc are just that aromatic molecule. The Escentric 01 02 etc are the same molecule blended with other notes. I love Mol 01 and can smell it on myself although it comes and goes in waves. My husband can’t smell it at all. My other favourite is 03 but 01 pipped it for the full bottle. I got the box before they launched 05 so interested to hear what that one is like.

@AintPageantMaterial I liked mol 01 but escentric 03. You need the whole set to try!

I bought the £36 bottle a while ago after reading rave reviews and it sounded different and interesting. Very underwhelmed, all I can smell is a slight lemongrass scent and nobody has ever commented on it, not even my partner. I just don't get what the fuss is about.

Hmm, mine doesn’t smell of lemongrass? (At least I don’t think) I honestly can’t think what it smells like and I’m useless at describing perfume notes anyway tbh but it smells to me quite sweet and slightly musky. Tbh, for me, there’s something Coco Mademoiselle and Chance Eau Tender about it. A bit like those 2 fragrances combined?!

And to those saying how can you love it without smelling it, you CAN smell it. I actually think only a very small % of people can’t smell it. It’s just after a while it’s not noticeable to me anymore yet I’m still getting compliments from people? I’m wearing a scarf that I wore yesterday and as soon as I wrapped it around me I could smell it again.

I cant smell it at all after about 2 minutes.
It's supposed to smell of cedar, a woody smell. If I take a big whiff of it when I first apply it it smells very like 4711 cologne. I think I'll put some on dd later and see if i can smell it on her

So, do you recommend getting the box of all the different ones? Where is the best place to get it? I'm intrigued!

Isn't Molecule 01 just ISO-E Super? I can smell it on things (paper/scarves), but not on me.

There are quite a few perfumes that use that as an ingredient, I think 4160 Tuesdays use it Sexiest Scent.

I've seen discovery sets around but they do cost a lot per ml.

I might get the Perfume Parlour dupe of this, it's supposed to be exactly the same!

I got an eBay sample after seeing raves on here.

On me it smells a bit like expensive wool clothing (in a good way). Anyone else get that?

I bought it after the last Mumsnet thread and was so disappointed
It smelled horrible to me and DH just wrinkled his nose

On the plus side, it’s so hyped that I sold it on eBay for than I paid and hopefully it works for them!

I love it, I suffer from migraine and other headaches and perfume is a real trigger for me. I love to smell nice though so it has been a lifelong battle. I can smell this on myself and I really like it.

I ordered a bottle after this thread. I can sort of smell it when I spray it on, and can smell it on my clothes etc but definitely can’t smell it throughout the day like my other perfumes which is a bit disappointing

Also haven’t had a single compliment about it either, though I haven’t seen many people (WFH) but still, the people I’ve wafted past in the supermarket/ out dog walking etc haven’t said anything

I’ve only had it 5 days though so the real test will be when we come out of lockdown and I start socialising again

There's a women at my work who wears this - on her it's very strong and oceanic. A few people have told her they don't like it! I can't spend too long in her office as it gives me a headache. I'm fascinated to know that it smells different on different people. I'll stick to my Idôle 😂

I wish I had known this before I bought it for £25 last week

I bought the sample with numbers 1, 2, 3, 4 & 5. I had high hopes for them after reading all the messages raving about them here, but was horrified by each of the samples. Worse than that, it seems the smell never goes away, even after a shower and scrubbing it!!! It took a couple of days for them to fade away. My husband and son also hated them profoundly. We were actually disgusted by them and not sure how could it have received so many compliments by others?
