Hair and skin regimes?

I don't look after my hair or skin at all really other than the basic hygeine.

Is it worth spending a few pounds on some skin creams and hair masks? Or is it all a big money scan and water, soap and shampoo are enough?

IMO yes it worth getting good products, btw good doesn’t always mean expensive
Sali Hughes excels in making good recommendations in decent price range

Sali Hughes best skin care under £20 best skin care under £20

Sali Hughes best hair, body lotions under £20 best lotions under £20

Personally I’d recommend the ordinary as a great brand

Buy products for what you need them to achieve eg if you wear make up a cleanser that removes make up
If you’re prone to dry skin a moisturising cleanser

Do you have allergies that you need to consider eg lanolin?

Shampoo , I’d recommend a sulfate free as it’s better for your hair try
Pureology
Superdrug do loads of SLS free shampoo

Oils are versatile for skin. And hair eg argan oil, Marula oil

Thank you. I have sensitie and dry skin so rarely use more than a moisturiser but as I get older I feel I should be taking better care of myself.

Try a few brands, see what suits you All those sali recommends are good

Dry sensitive skin Aveeno is always good
Neutrogena do good products

Clinique are also good the 3 step range is v good. Go to the counter get samples, in particular see if the toner 2 is okay for you (it contains alcohols so maybe too astringent) they do an alcohol free toner no1
The big set is good value if you wait off it always goes on sale after Xmas
