In a good way, you don't need to use a curling iron at all since you have such an effect. Or you just use the curling iron incorrectly and damage your hair because of it. Before using the curling iron, apply thermal protection to the hair. They will not be so damaged, and you will have beautiful curls. You should also learn more about the correct temperature distribution on your hair. And in general, I wonder what kind of curling iron model you have? If you use an old curling iron, there is a chance that it does not automatically turn off when you need it. I found out about this from an article that answered my question about do curling wands turn off automatically or not ( besthairadvisor.com/do-curling-wands-turn-off-automatically/ )

I use a curing wand, babyliss, so nothing fancy. I curl in fairly small sections, hold for probably 5 seconds, then let the curl drop into my hand and hold it in my palm for a further few seconds to cool in place before letting it fall and moving onto the next curl. Once I have completed half a head I spray fairly liberally with hair spray. Repeat with second side. It will be crunchy and poodle-y at this point. Then I do make up, or get dressed, or lounge for at least 15 minutes to allow it to sit and completely cool before finger combing it out to soften the curls and remove the crunchiness. I sometimes add a little hair oil at this point to add shine and remove fly aways. I find with this method I can curl my hair on a Friday morning and have it last until Sunday (though obviously the curls loosen over the weekend).

This is the heat protectant I use, I don't know if it being an Elnett product helps my curls hold in addition to the hair spray, it does say for straight but I use it for both as I only have one heat protectant in at a time and it seems to work fine for curls too.

Sorry, this is in addition to the above, sent too soon.
