Black hiker boots

So I’ve decided I’m going to get some for my birthday. Do I go all out and get a pair of Grenson’s? Ones I like are the Nanette and the Bridget. Are they worth the money? Or I’ve seen a pair in Dune that I like that are half the price. Are Grenson’s worth the hefty price tag? Also which would you chose out of the two pictured?

I adore the Bridget ones - if quality and affordable for you go for it. The Dune ones are too high. I prefer the Nanette. They are fab and classic - you will have them forever. I always regret buying a cheap alternative to classic items as they never last. However if you only intend to wear them for 12 months you might be better buying the cheaper ones. Hopefully someone who has the boots will come along and tell you how they wear as I am interested in buying a pair too.

I have the Next ones linked above. I changed the laces to red. I bought to see how I got on with them and I love them. Very comfy. A good way to trial the look before committing to the real thing..

I absolutely love the Bridget ones you posted, but could never justify spending that much on boots unfortunately. If you can afford them and think you'd wear them to death then you should go for it.

Okay so I’m definitely going to buy one of the Grenson’s. Unfortunately neither of them are they are in stock anywhere other than online so I can’t try them on. Would you go for the ankle ones (Bridget) or the calf length ones (Nanette)? Which do you think is likely to go with more? I will be wanting to wear with jeans and skirts/dresses. I’m so torn and don’t know which to chose!!

I have the nanette boots and they are absolutely fabulous. Different colourway . I got them in the sale at Coggles. They are so comfortable, no wearing in needed. I love them. But there are lots of black hiker boots out there, whistles, dune, Jones the boot maker, marks and slender, John Lewis all have loads to choose from. The Nanette are ankle length on me ( and I'm short). They fit true to size.
