Mine :

Had endless blackheads on my nose since I was 12. Nothing works.

Facial hair. Chin. Lip. Now Neck too. Nothing works permanently. Always have at least one hair or bristly feel

Mascara, always end up with, from my right eye, black marks under the eye, eyelashes on that side have gone weird, really long, won't curl.

What do others struggle with.

@HaveYouEverThought - this makes me sad but I feel the same. Still the same face looking at me in the mirror
And big pores. I used to have beautiful skin I took for granted. Like porcelain it was. It's crap now

OrinocoGlow · 01/11/2020 20:39

Thanks Othering and ImEating, I will look into those. Probably something for after lock down when beauty salons can re-open.

floofycroissant · 01/11/2020 20:40

@hollyandkit yes, I've not had it personally but it always looks great

justilou1 · 02/11/2020 04:37

@WhereIsMyMojoGone - could it be perimenopause or possibly seborrheic dermatitis? Have you had a thyroid screening test? Hairloss shouldn’t just be written off as stress, as it can be too late to reverse if the cause is medical.

ZazieRoses · 02/11/2020 06:33

I got rid of milia round my eyes by using a salicylic acid peel followed by a clay mask twice a week.

It took 6-9 months to really get rid of them, but they started shrinking long before that. They also haven’t returned as I’ve kept the mask regime up, although it’s often more like once a week now.

Pink, green, yellow or rhassoul clays work much better than kaolin. Kaolin isn’t really absorbent enough on it’s own. A mixed clay and charcoal mask is also really effective.

The blackheads on my nose/cheeks are also a thing of the past and my pores are much less visible too.

shesellsseashells99 · 02/11/2020 06:38

Eyeliner on the top of my eyelid!! Grrr!! I've tried for years

Frannibananni · 02/11/2020 06:45

I have grey hair that no longer holds home colour. I am not looking forward to starting To pay salon prices every six weeks. I don’t know that I really could afford it.

KatharinaRosalie · 02/11/2020 06:48

dontrecycle I've posted about it on this thread - warning, includes bruised post surgery photo as well.

No foundation ever sticks.

Gwenhwyfar · 02/11/2020 18:26

"My issue is jowls developing but short of a facelift I don’t think there’s much that can be done."

I don't know how easy it is for an ordinary person to do this, but I've seen people contouring their jaw lines on You Tube to give the impression of a sharper one.

Gwenhwyfar · 02/11/2020 18:29

"Greasy hair - use dry shampoo when the hair is clean and not when it's already an oil slick."

That wouldn't work for me. I have greasy hair if I get up too late and don't have time to wash it. I never know in advance that this is going to happen.

OhioOhioOhio · 02/11/2020 19:48

Varicose veins

WhereIsMyMojoGone · 02/11/2020 20:17

@justilou It could be perimenopause. I've had my thyroid checked but the lab refuses to do the one test - is it T3 or t4? - because my other levels seem fine, although I suffered from low thyroid problems in my 20s.

justilou1 · 02/11/2020 20:26

That doesn’t make sense at all. Especially with hairloss. Do you have other hypothyroid symptoms? Eyebrows thinning? Dry skin? Weight gain? Feeling cold? Change doctors!!!

Thecobwebsarewinning · 02/11/2020 20:42

I am prone to jowls (apparently it’s an inevitable part of ageing for those of us with pointy chins/heart shaped faces). I’ve had ultherapy and a thread lift both of which improved things a bit but the aesthetic doctor I see tells me the only surefire fix is a surgical lift and I’m not vain enough for a GA.

justilou1 · 02/11/2020 23:42

I have a round face and I’m starting to get jowly too. It’s not a great look. I also have a weak chin, so I have always looked like I have had a flabby neck, and now the skin underneath is loosening. It’s starting to feel like it’s separating entirely like those videos of water coming through someone’s ceiling.

Spiderbaby8 · 02/11/2020 23:58

Huge pores, I really dislike them but nothing I have tried works.

Wiredforsound · 03/11/2020 01:47

@noodlezoodle Soolantra for rosacea. Complete game changer. I got mine via private prescription with an online pharmacy (Superdrug I think). I just filled in a straightforward form and sent in some photos of my cheeks. It’s about £36 but it’s amazing. It takes a few weeks to really make a difference and I still get the odd flare up, but 95% of the time I wake up, look in the mirror, and can’t believe how pale and not sore I am. Someone on a similar chat recommended it about 8 months ago and I haven’t looked back.

165EatonPlace · 03/11/2020 02:11

Turnedouttoes

Sorry to reply late. I have had these little cuts at side of mouth. Very occasionally , at the same time, I also get a little cut at the very top of my labia majora where the left side meets the right. Bizarre! I have found taking Ferrous sulphate (iron) clears it up very quickly. For me it seens to happen if I don't eat red meat.

coronafiona · 03/11/2020 02:16

@Nameandgamechange123

Thin hair. Terribly thin, terribly greasy hair. It really upsets me.
Try Toppik products on amazon or follow Lucinda Ellroy on insta, she works miracles with weaves.
coronafiona · 03/11/2020 02:22

@SpeedofaSloth

Blepharitis and dry eyes have made make up a thing of the past, sadly. I use a heat mask and Blephasol but can't get back to wearing makeup without it kicking off again massively.
Try Hyabak caps supplement meant to be good for dry eyes and make sure your drops are free of preservatives.
coronafiona · 03/11/2020 02:27

I have awful varicose veins and thread veins I hate them so much. I need surgery but can't afford it can anyone help with those?
My biggest issue at the moment is my weight I just cannot stop eating sugar. Starting yet another diet tomorrow but would love some tips if anyone can help please?
Oh- and lockdown insomnia Confused!

noodlezoodle · 03/11/2020 04:29

Thanks @Wiredforsound - I'm in the US where Soolantra costs about $600 (I know...) but I have something similar prescribed by my dermatologist - it helps a bit but not as much as I'd hoped. Having said that I've only been using it this year and we have had a mask mandate since early March, so who knows what my skin would be like if it wasn't getting super heated by a mask every time I leave the house!

I will be back in the UK in December to see family (hopefully) so perhaps I should try and get a private prescription while I'm there.

MarieFromStTropez · 03/11/2020 04:39
  1. Charcoal Cleansing Bar.
  2. IPL.
  3. Eyelash extensions.
FlowerOfEvil · 03/11/2020 06:51

Blackheads - You can get rid of spots and blackheads (I have neither now) but it is all about your skin care and being consistent with it. I get lots of compliments about my completion but it takes work and if I slack off it is noticeable. I use liz earl cleanse and polish every night, ordinarys retinols and regular face masks throughout the week and every Sunday I use a chemical (Elemis) exfoliator, mud mask and then a moisturizing mask to finish.

Eyebrows - One of my eyelids is lower than the other, I have found it is more noticeable the thinner my eyebrows are so I have tried to grow them out. The best tip I have is fill them in before you trim or pluck them as it stops you over plucking.

Chin hair - I have had my chin lazered (a lot) and the hair always comes back back and it was really embarrassing. I ended up buying Braun IPL Silk Expert Pro 5 PL5124 Generation IP from Amazon and it really works and doesn’t hurt (unlike lazer) but I think it is because I use it every week.
