Best socks/other for outdoor worker?

I’d like to get something for a very kind neighbour who has been looking after my Mum.

She works outdoors, so I thought of something to keep her warm. What are the best thermal socks? Or does anyone have any other good ideas, please?

The loveliest socks for anyone who works outside are Corrymoor mohair. The Companion style is my personal favourite; I buy two pairs a year and with reasonable care (no boil wash), they go on for years but they do get a little thinner, which makes them fine all year round except very hot summers. No, they don't itch. They also never smell even if you wear them for a week. Trust me on this.

I second mohair ( goats’ wool) socks . I buy mine from a local breeder but she is very low on stock at the moment .
