Capsule wardrobe revelation for a maximalist

I have just had the most satisfying wardrobe reorganization! So I wanted to share the joy. NB I am not stylish but hope there is a place for me in style and beauty.
I do organise quite often and don't keep anything that doesn't fit well and I don't love but I still have just too much stuff. So today I have organised it into 4 x different capsule wardrobes, one of them is now hanging proudly and spaciously ready to be selected from, while the other three are carefully rolled up in one box each. I plan to put this one away and get another one out at least every three weeks.
I've included casual and work things so each one has a jacket, going out dress, work dress, skirt, work trousers, blouse, cardigan, sweater, jeans, roll neck, hoodie, tops, t shirts etc. And they each have a different vibe (classic/chic neutral colours, preppy, slightly hippyish, brights and florals). It did feel weird to pack away some relatively new things but I am already wearing a new white jumper I had forgotten about with a coral tee and a print scarf, and I have an outfit laid out for dinner out later when I would usually have just worn my jeans (black pencil skirt, black cowl necked vest top I recently got from a charity shop and haven't worn yet, and an old favourite bolero cardigan). I have an embarrassing number of jackets in each capsule, my ponchos are now evenly distributed so will all get worn, and I am planning to wear more dresses and skirts for work. I have kept sports stuff, scarves, vests, bras and belts all out rather than distributing them. I am not worried about things getting crumpled while stored because I tend to press or iron things that need it when I want to wear them rather than before I put them away. I know that I will probably sabotage my efforts and keep pulling things out (or buying new things) until it's all full up again but this feels so refreshing and hopefully rotating them will help me stop me buying.

Well done! It does sound like a lot lot of clothes, though!

I really like the idea of having a few capsules on rotation rather than one for spring/summer and one for autumn/winter! Inspired to do this myself now, thanks OP!

I agree JoJo this is probably why I am poorer than I should be Smile
