Wart on FACE??

Anybody had this before? Can you get them removed ?

I remember having one appear on my chin years ago In late 20s. It went away after awhile but left a little bumpy scar.

Now one has appeared on my forehead! It's hard not to pick at it but then it bleeds. Best thing seems to be to file it down gently to stop it becoming too obviously crusty. Hoping it'll go away on its own- but if not, can I pay to have it chopped off ? How much are we talking ? I feel
Disgusting :(

Maybe speak to a gp as it may not be a wart

If it is a wart, try covering it with duct tape. This does work - the wart turns black and dies. Alternatively you can have laser but mine grew back and had to have it zapped again for it to die off

If it is chopped off scarring may be s concern on your face

Lumene · 27/10/2020 23:43

Have you had it checked by a dermatologist or dr?

BoogleMcGroogle · 28/10/2020 07:01

A dermatologist removed one I had just near my eye. Very quick and painless, no scarring at all. You might need to pay for a private referral. My private healthcare paid, because it was deemed necessary treatment as near the eye.

Go may be able to freeze it?

They are more common with aging unfortunately.

Don't pick at it as you risk spreading the papilloma virus and turning the wart into something more nasty. Get it checked

Before doing anything costly I would try and use nail varnish (in clear as it's on your face!) as that got rid of a wart I had on the back of my knee for at least 20 years. It literally shrunk over a few days and never came back.

Yours may not be the same obviously but worth a try I think as it's a cheap non invasive thing to try.

I'd see a gp first in case it's not a wart at all

MrDarcysMa · 28/10/2020 21:56

I'm 99% sure it's a wart as I've had one before and it's exactly the same, but I'll try and get a GP appt to check. Bit difficult at the moment however due to Covid.
Thanks for all of your tips - I'll give the bail polish a bash!

It’s not an officially approved treatment as there haven’t been enough wide spread studies but if you have access to tretinoin there is evidence that it works - I’m immune suppressed and as a result very prone to warts, tags etc; have tried years of freezing, over the counter treatments etc then a couple of years ago just started whacking tret on any that appeared - it has worked every single time, even with stubborn ones which had been hanging around for years in the face of other treatments
