I've really neglected my skin recently and need to get back into a good cleansing routine. What shall I buy?

I'm 44, and even my partner has commented on my skin lately. I've started using Cerave Smoothing Cleanser, followed by Aldi retinol toner and rose oil at night. It is working wonders.

For cleanser, I like the M&S pure rose balm cleanser, it's fantastic and quarter of the price of Elemis (and I prefer it too as found Elemis stung my eyes). I follow with the Lancôme miel en mousse cleanser as I love the smell and texture. Doesn't leave skin feeling tight.

Other products I'd recommend are the Crystal Retinal by Medik8 , it's supposed to be more powerful and less irritating than retinol.

Ooh thanks for the recommendation @Ponks - I've been looking for an elemis dupe for a while. Will give that a whirl!

Morning:
Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish
Aromatherapy Associates Rose Serum
Liz Earle Nourishing Moisturiser (far preferable to the Elemis Collagen Cream IMO).

Evening:
Elemis Rose Cleansing Balm or the Lavender version. I use this twice if I’ve been wearing makeup. I also use it as a mask if I’m having a bath. Slather it on including neck & décolleté, massage & then relax for 15 minutes.
I try to leave my skin bare overnight but will reapply the LE moisturiser if it’s feeling a little tight.

I’ve also been paying more attention to the way in which I apply the products. Watched a great facial massage tutorial last weekend on Laura Jackson’s Instagram account.
