Decent but affordable wigs

I am currently watching schitts creek and Have fallen in love with the idea of having wigs for different outfits and moods. I have awful unmanageable hair and would happily wear a wig.
Is there such a thing as a realistic wig that won’t break the bank. I occasionally see people wearing wigs that are very obviously wigs and it’s usually the hair line or parting that gives it away. I have no hairdressing talent tire style one either.

Cheap wigs never look good. You'll be looking at around 400 pounds for the most affordable but decent wig OP. What's your budget?

I suspected so. Well I guess I could get one at 400 pounds but I was rather hoping to get several adding up to that amount! But I do appreciate that you get what you pay for. I just love the idea of changing styles and hair colours.

An easy way to wear a cheaper wig is to disguise the hairline (eg a 3/4 length wig) by pulling your own hair over it (tutorials on youtube about this) or wear a hat or scarf - I wear a beanie over cheaper long wigs and it looks more natural. Winter is the perfect time to do this!

Wigs with a fringe also look more natural than a lacefront IMO.

My top tip is to use some dry shampoo on a cheaper wig to give it some texture and to take away the cheap synthetic shine.

You could try something like Haircube on amazon to experiment with a wig in the £20-30 bracket and see how you get on. I also like Lush Wigs for different colours.

I have a friend who wears wigs nearly every day and they are all from Amazon and look great. She says they are £30-40. She often wears hats with them which helps.

QVC used to do wigs but not sure if they do now.

LOVE schitts creek! I've been wearing wigs for ages but usually stick to the same couple before watching this - it inspired me to try loads of styles too! Now it's like makeup - another part of getting ready for the day.

Sorry to LeSquigh but I think buying a wigs from Amazon can be really hit and miss - I've bought a few from there and a couple have been passable but some are awful.

Even the ones that look ok sometimes are just uncomfortable to wear - so if you're planning to wear one all day comfort is certainly something to think about.

A couple of places in the UK I've bought wigs from that I'd recommend would be wonderfulwigs.co.uk/ and jonrenau.com/ - the wigs look real and are comfortable - they also start from about £100 which isn't bad if you're looking for lots of styles to switch between rather than one wig to wear all year round.
