Special birthday ideas for me!

Hi all, my 40th is coming up and my husband keeps asking me for ideas and I honestly don’t know what to suggest! Can anyone give me some ideas on stuff like lovely bath stuff, make up, skincare, hair care etc... and even some classic clothes ideas please? Budget in the hundreds for all not thousands! With everything going on I just don’t feel like dressing up, we don’t get out much anyway with having youngish kids and I’m working at home until at least next year so don’t need fancy clothes etc, I just don’t know what to suggest to him. I appreciate it’s a nice problem to have and he really wants to get something I’ll use and enjoy. Thanks everyone Smile

What about a nice piece of jewellery? Bracelet or earrings from a high end jeweller?

DisgruntledGuineaPig · 25/10/2020 15:35

Nice coat? Something classic style, wool, bit smarter than you would normally buy, last for years and smarten up normal clothes.

Posh toiletries bag or purse - a posh purse will feel nice even if thrown in a rucksack or changing bag.

Dressing gown - something luxurious you'd never justify buying but will last years.

Jewellery or a handbag or designer sunglasses

Cashmere loungewear
A stylish but cosy cardigan that elevates everything
A classic silk shirt
A kimono or robe in silk/velvet, something extravagant
Sheepskin slippers
A special piece of jewellery
Makeup - something that feels fancy when you use it, like Chanel, or more modern and trendy, like Glossier.
Gorgeous bath stuff - I like l’occitane, Neal’s Yard, Laura Mercier, Ren
Buttery soft Italian-leather gloves

Thanks everyone I’m thinking I’m going to look for nice soap, a lovely dressing gown/kimono/PJs and maybe ask for some of the Chanel cream bronzer, had my eye on it for ages! Thank you 😊

What about a cashmere hoody to lounge at home in, M&S have a lovely one at the moment.
I second a bracelet, something you can wear all the time & never take off.
