Ideas for warm workwear

I work in a badly insulated school in Scotland and spent last winter shivering! I desperately need ideas for what I can wear that will be warm but actually look vaguely stylish. In warmer times, I’d normally wear shirt dresses or tailored trousers with a shirt/blouse but I then can’t find a warmer layer to go on top that isn’t incredibly frumpy. Any ideas gratefully received.

The office I work in is quite cold. I wear a thermal base layer then a blouse or shirt and then a cardigan. I have also got jumpers that I have a thermal vest I wear under it. A long necklace or a lightweight scarf.

Thermal tights. Ankle boots. Skirt. Or trousers and Flat shoes. If wide leg trousers, I can usually get away with socks. Otherwise it’s knee high pop socks and heels.

Think about under your clothes rather than a top layer.

Marks and Spencer usually do good thermals. I’ve also seen Primark recommended for the same.

I tend to find a lot of thermals sweaty so instead I wear really thin merino base layers. The uniqlo merino is a staple for me.
