Frivolous question about eyeliner shades for green eyes

BigButtons · 23/10/2020 15:12

My eyes are green/hazel. The colour can lean from one to the other depending on time of day, if I'm tired etc.
I don't wear much make up but do like an eyeliner to bring out the green.
I don't like very purple shades on me but have discovered the red/brick based eyeliners look great with my green eyes. ( chanel Eros for example)
I was wondering what other colour families were good.
How about greys or even greens?
Just fancied exploring other possibilities.
Rather like the look of the Urban decay colours. Any green-eyed peeps use them?Smile

I find gold or copper looks good with my green eyes. Haven't tried red - might give it a go!

Janegrey333 · 23/10/2020 15:43

I use greens around mine - in a subtle way. It so difficult to get proper greens!

BigButtons · 23/10/2020 16:19

Thank you- I'll try a green. There was a rather nice urban decay one called stash that is a copper green.

Sounds like we have similar coloured eyes.

I find that aubergine colours make them look the greenest, I use Laura Mercier tight liner in Plum Riche or LM eyeshadow in Black Plum. If I use a navy colour (LM tightener in Bleu Marine) they look more golden.

I've given up on eyeliner pencils as they all smudge on me and now use either cake eyeliner or eyeshadow as a liner.

IdblowJonSnow · 23/10/2020 17:26

Aubergine or a dark blue.

Beamur · 23/10/2020 17:29

I like golds and grey for a more understated look. Gold works well on mine for shadow too.
I also have a kind of grey/brown liquid liner that I like.
Green definitely makes my eyes look greener.

Urban decay 24/7 eyeliner in the shade rockstar

BigButtons · 24/10/2020 07:41

@MustBeThin that’s gorgeous- very purple though and possibly not suitable for me at 53 years young🙁😮

Teal colour is a good one for your eyes. Not super bright though.

isthismylifenow · 24/10/2020 10:55

I use brown mainly for every day, but navy blue and purple/ aubergine do also bring out the colour. I just can't find an aubergine that stays on. I paid a fortune for a clarins one and after an hour it's disappeared.

I’m still stuck in the ‘80’s and use eyeliner on my waterline Hmm have pale green eyes and find pinks and coppers make them pop. Purples just make me feel like I’ve got bruises! Where does everyone wear said eyeliner?

GoldenGumballs · 24/10/2020 11:12

Pink & copper eyeshadow but I use dark green on waterline.

WettnWild · 24/10/2020 19:02

Urban Decay Naked Heat is amazing but unfortunately the red tones in it irritate my eyes, such a shame though as they make the green really pop.
I also have Naked Honey palette and the gold/bronze tones look lovely.
Charlotte Tilbury Bronze Garnet pencil is a good buy, I’ve had that one a few times but trying to use up some palettes before I buy any more make up.

MikeUniformMike · 24/10/2020 19:24

Copper or bronze looks good

Auldspinster · 24/10/2020 19:27

I use copper, aubergine and red to bring out my brown/green eyes.

Frivolous question about eyeliner shades for green eyes
Janegrey333 · 24/10/2020 19:32

I use a darkish green shadow instead of liner from the outer edge of the eyes to the halfway point. And never any mascara on the bottom lashes.

Janegrey333 · 24/10/2020 19:34

Under the eye. Never on the top lid.

BigButtons · 24/10/2020 20:13

@WettnWild interesting you should say that. I was looking at those also at the Cherry palette which has pinky/ purple/ red tones. Never thought of pinks for green eyes though. Apparently it works😮
