So GP says I've got Telogen Effluvium - shock to system so hair falls out - through weight loss this year, its falling out in horrendous amounts, every bloomin day! Lost 4 stone over lockdown, which is great, but going bald is not so great..

I've googled treatments, found Kérastase Specifique Cure Anti-Chute Treatment but its £30 for 10 ampules..

Anyone had a good result with it or anything else? GP says it'll calm down but can take up to 6 months for body to adjust.Shock

My hair became very thin and I take HairJelly capsules and I do believe they have made a difference.

That doesn't look like loads of hair op. I could literally pull loads out. I'm 18 months post the start of losing weight and it's growing back.

My mum had this when she started slimming World. Lots of dark green veg sorted her out spinach, kale, cabbage, green beans etc

@Retailqueenie

Nosuchthingastoomuchcheese have you used this?
Yes. It really helped. More than biotin, iron and b12 but that all helps too. I had a lot of hair loss a few years. Much better now. Nourkrin is expensive but worth it.

@CoronaCurls

What about collagen powder? My Dsis swears by it she says she notices a big difference in her DH's hair and skin when he is taking it. Also biotin too is worth taking - my hair is growing far quicker since I started taking it.
Another vote for collagen. Started taking it for skin but noticed new hair growth too

This is my jumper most nights Sad

Its been a stressful year but I do think this is weight loss, it was steady though, 2lbs a week over about 6months.

Am looking into supplements, thank you so much everyone, it’s good to know it’s ‘normal’ - altho bloody frightening!

I can recommend fresh turmeric shots. I’ve lost 2.5 stone since lockdown and was feeling a bit weedy and tired also exercising a lot until I got severe tendinitis which just wouldn’t heal. They were reviewed positively in the Times and after 3 weeks my injury is feeling better and my skin nails and hair are really healthy with so much less ‘fall’ every day. I bought them from The Turmeric Co. but probably available other places too.

This happened to me when I did a VLCD and lost 5 stone in 5 months, very distressing. It stopped when I upped my calories!
