How to style black chunky boots in your forties

After a long search I think I’ve found a great pair of black chunky leather boots which will be great for winter. However I need tips on how to style them. I’ve been on Pinterest and YouTube for ideas but most of the posts are by really young women wearing clothes I’d never wear in my mid forties (ripped denim hot pants for example). Does anyone on MN have any recommendations on what clothes work well with chunky boots? I’ve ordered a pair of straight leg raw hem jeans but haven’t received them yet so they could be a disaster 😂

Are they tight fitting around the ankle?
I have some new Doctor Marten Sinclairs and I have been wearing them with:
Midi dresses and skirts
Mini dresses and thin tights
Slim-ish fit dungarees (rolled up)
Levi’s 501s
Soooo... everything

I wear my biker boots with high waisted rolled up jeans... sometimes with rips... with mini skirts & opaques... etc im 44

Raw hem jeans are good

Skinny jeans or rolled up mom jeans here. I felt a bit 1990’s with dresses personally.

Yes wear mine with jeans, different shapes. I also don't tend to pair them with dresses unless the dress isn't very 90s if that makes sense.

I wore them with black skinny jeans rolled up today and thought they looked nice. Got a compliment on them 😂
I've ordered some black raw hem jeans too so hopefully they'll suit. I've also ordered this dress from Whistles which I'm hoping will look nice to be a bit smarter.

I wear my doc martens with skinny jeans, rolled up straight leg jeans, midi and maxi dresses and skirts, sometimes shorter skirts and thick tights (very 90s but that's not a bad thing).

What are your boots like? I don't really class Doc Martins as chunky boots as they are quite neat if that makes sense.

I wear mine with midi dresses, maxi dresses, long skirts, with black coated jeans and knee length skirts. With pretty much anything!

I wear my studded biker boots with ripped jeans, a skull T shirt and an oversized black jumper, I use a bandana as a face mask - Im 57

@headstrong27 they're not totally high fashion I don't think. I don't love the huge chunky ones. Well I can admire them on cool young girls but I'd never get away with them. These are my boots

They're the all saints ones aren't they? Chloelovestoshop bought them a while ago her page might be worth a look for ideas?
To be honest I don't think there is much they wouldn't go with.

@troppibambini yes I totally copied Chloelovestoshop 🤣 She wears them with raw hem jeans and leather leggings and she looks great.

@trumpisaflump my mum has a version of those (I think Russell & Bromley), they are lovely & pretty classic so as other posters have said they will go with everything.

Oh no I didn't mean to put your off. I plan to borrow (steal) them & I'm in my 30s.

My mum has always worn black lace up flat boots & I think they are a classic style.
