Hi, I've searched past threads and apparently there is a go to MN recommended kit from Amazon, but I don't know what it is.... It seems to be a secret, if you know then you know Grin
Is it the purple box or the chocochoco can anyone tell me? Is there a secret password I need to use?!

I've used the purple box one several times. It's pretty good, certainly nearly as good as the salon treatments for a tiny fraction of the price. The whole process is a bit of a faff, especially if you're doing it yourself without another pair of hands to help you do the back, but it definitely does help the frizz hugely.

The biggest problem is managing to keep it completely dry for the 3 days afterwards and not get caught in rainshowers or put it up in a ponytail because it's windy etc etc. I did find myself just using the straighteners a lot to tidy it up over those 3 days!

@lurkingfromhome thanks for your reply.
I'm happy with a bit of a faff to save over £100, especially as I now have so much time on my hands as we're going back to lockdown in Wales Sad.
Ditto the not getting it wet, I'll probably be indoors for weeks.
Did you get more than 1 application out of the box?

Yes, I got two applications out of it and I have really thick hair that’s just past my shoulders. I’m fact, I think I’ve got another box somewhere so I might just do it again so that I have immaculate hair for winter lockdown 😬😂

I’ve used the purple one several times. I love it. Don’t over saturate your hair with it or your eyes will water

I used one with orange on the box and it was fantastic. I think the brand is Kativa. Really didn't have high hopes but 3 months on its still kept hair straight. It did take hours to do it which is the only downside.

Darkestseasonofall · 28/10/2020 07:32

I've got the kit, it arrived yesterday. Trouble is it says the straighteners I need to use must be a certain temperature, and Google tells me that my ghds don't get that high.

Did you all use extra fancy ones with temperature controls to do yours?

No, I just used my GHDs without checking what temperature they get to and it seemed to work fine. You could always go over each section of hair a few more times to make sure.

I've just used the kativa kit, was seriously cheap and made my hair smell weird for the first couple of washes, but worked brilliantly.

nzeire · 04/02/2021 18:36

Omg, the smell almost killed me, horrific

Excellent results though (purple box one), chucked the rest as thought I may be poisoned or bald if I tried sgain
