Has anyone used Thrift?

Saw them on dragons den and just went on their website, they have some really good designer stuff and 1/3 of the sale goes to charity. Wondered if anyone had shopped with them and how the experience was?

The websites seems a bit glitchy so was hoping for some experiences before I buy!

I haven’t shopped with them yet but have donated/sold some high street clothes. I am building up credits through sales and will then try buying...! I like that 1/3 goes to charity.

I hadn't seen them but have just ordered a bag for things that I keep meaning to eBay but probably won't get round too. Looks great

Yes it does look like a great idea! It’s just the website glitching that makes me nervous about buying

I bought a dress on eBay and immediately got an email saying thank you for making your first purchase from Thrift.
Got a bit panicky thinking my bank had been hacked then realised I had purchased from their eBay shop.
Dress came in about 4 days, it was in excellent condition and worth the price I paid. So pleased with my purchase.

I've donated during lockdown and pleasantly surprised by how much my old stuff sold for. I donated all to my chosen charity so 1/3 to thrift , 2/3 to charity. I ordered another bag and I may be less altruistic! I found them slow but thorough

None of my stuff sold and it was good brands with tags. I got a bit suspicious they just nicked it frankly.

Sooverthemill · 22/10/2020 08:42

@Leflic when did you donate? My stuff took months to be listed and you have an email saying when

It was a couple of years ago. They sent a photo of them and the nothing. I’d have paid to get them sent back as I could have sold them on eBay.or given to my school charity event.

I didn't realise they'd been around that long!

I’ve just bought 4 items and overall I’m pleased but not overly enthusiastic. One item was v cheap (£3.50) and is in great condition, another was a fair price for a good high street brand (£10) and is also in good condition. One £5 jumper described as being in vg condition seems a bit washed out and out of shape - but I guess that’s fair at the price . But I also bought a designer cardigan described as being in very good condition with no visible flaws for £30 that turned out to have a moth hole in the sleeve (and had quite a lot of cat hair on it!) . They have given me a free return code to get a refund on this which is fair enough (and which I’m obviously entitled to under distance selling regs) but I’m still a bit disappointed. Have had similarly hit and miss experiences with Oxfam online shop but as the full price in Oxfam goes to charity I have more tolerance with that.
