What trousers or jeans with ankle boots

Love ankle boots - have a few pairs, mostly with a medium high block heel, stopping a couple of inches above the ankle bone (so not super short). But... I never know what trousers to wear with them!

Most of my jeans are straight leg or skinny. But not skinny enough to tuck into boots IYSWIM.

I don't suit or like loose or baggy jeans, particularly. I used to wear bootcut years ago but they feel dated to me now. Can I wear straight leg over ankle boots? Chinos, rolled up?

Help! I love ankle boots, want to wear them all winter but not sure how to make them look good with trousers.

Straight leg rolled or unrolled, see which you prefer. Skinnies rolled too. Chinos also good.
Have a trying on session with all your boots and trousers.

Agree that you need to try on all your 'bottoms' with all your boots and btw bootcut are 'in' this year! Up to you of course if you get some

Been looking because of course I may one day leave the house again!

If your jeans are long enough, see photo 1 if the boots aren't bulky, this looks good I think
Make a deep cuff to end just above boot
Make a narrow cuff the same
Tuck skinnies under!

I think it's a bit 'anything goes' this year.

I just always roll up jeans

Gastropod · 21/10/2020 11:08

Thanks all.
It's funny, I've not rolled up my jeans since I stopped wearing DMs/army boots! Clearly I need to try again.
And yes, maybe just try everything on with everything.

I have a pair of bootcut I bought last year, might wheel them out as well. It might just be me stuck in a rut, thinking things don't go when they do...
