LVL lash lift at home

I got my first LVL lash lift at a salon just before lockdown - the first time round it didn't work so well so I had to get it done again. After the second time, I could definitely see the difference (though mostly after wearing mascara which made them look almost like false lashes).
About a month ago I got them done again and this time also they didn't lift much! Quite disappointing given how much it costs. I don't know if I've got the kind of lashes that need doing twice or this salon just doesn't do it properly.
Anyhow, I was wondering if anyone has been successful at doing this at home? I saw some ladies on here say they've done it at home but I must admit it does look really tricky to DIY. BUT I also don't want to have to spend £110 (it costs £55 for each go) and 2 salon visits to get my lashes lifted.

I love getting mine done but I don't think I'd be brave enough to do my own. Have you got a friend who could help?

sqirrelfriends · 20/10/2020 20:39

I do mine at home, I never had it done in a salon before but I was missing my lash extensions and thought I'd give it a go.

It worked really well for me, I won't be getting lash extensions again.

I've had both. It's really easy to do at home! Give it a go!

Lily193 · 20/10/2020 20:48

It's really easy to do yourself. I've been doing my own for months with comparable results to a salon.

Can you recommend best kits or share any hints n tips?

KnightsofColumbusThatHurt · 20/10/2020 23:07

Oooh following - I'm very much a DIYer anyway so would be interested in this.

Ooh what kits are people using? I’m a Covid convert to tinting my eyebrows and was thinking about doing my lashes as well.

Placemarking too.

My daughter did mine with a £15 kit from amazon, it looks better than when I gave it done at the salon, it’s very easy! Totally worth a go!

MonkeyPuddle · 21/10/2020 07:58

Ah brilliant, thank you! Off to add it to my Christmas list!

user145964508 · 21/10/2020 08:28

Thanks for all the replies. I don't have anyone who could do it for me - especially not now with the Covid restrictions where we are. I might give it a go myself.

Looking on amazon for some of these at home lash kits, I came across a heated eyelash curler with some reviews saying it's like getting a lash lift every day. Anyone tried one of those?

I started tinted my eyebrows at home just recently after reading it on a MN forum - I've never gotten my eyebrows tinted before, I didn't think I needed to because I have very dark brows but my goodness it really helps fill out some of the gaps and makes them look fuller. Total convert to DIY beauty treatments now :D

I might give it a go myself then!

I use a heated lash curler, the clamp style one, not the comb type, and it's really good. Holds the curl longer than the ordinary ones.

Had a couple of lash lifts that were disappointing, I preferred the lash perms but no-one seems to do them now.

Didn't know there was a home kit available, definitely be checking that out😀
