Pregnancy capsule wardrobe for winter?

Richmonder · 20/10/2020 19:49

I’m getting to the point in my pregnancy where nothing is fitting right - I cried last week because none of my winter skirts/trousers/jeans fit Hmm. Currently living in oversized t shirts and leggings but I don’t think the t shirts do anything for me...

I don’t want to go crazy because it’s such a short period of time, but will (hopefully) be breastfeeding next winter too, so would like to get a few nice bits and pieces that are suitable for both pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Are there any particular brands anyone can recommend/any items of clothing that were great?

I got a batch from Seraphine when I was pregnant. Shops like H&M or Topshop do pregnancy collections too. If you’re used to higher quality, you’ll probably struggle but it’s an option to just buy a huge size from a main collection in things like jumpers.

Gap is brilliant for comfy but decent maternity wear.
Got the odd thing from JO Jo Maman as well

The drapey JoJo cardigans are great for keeping bump warm and later as feeding cover up. Their maternity leggings are nice and thick, got about 3 months post birth wear out of them last time too Blush

Jojo maman bebe definitely. They have really nice quality stuff that can be worn once baby is born too

www.uk.isabellaoliver.com/ pricey but also be able to find pieces on eBay quite cheap and many are suitable for post maternity wear.

Seraphine think they have a sale in too. I didn't discover them until it was too late (and we were in lockdown!) but excellent nursing tops!

Another vote for seraphine. I’ve just bought one of their maternity/baby wearing parkas as due soon but imagine I’ll be out in all weathers with the baby in the sling (as I was with my son, though he was a summer baby so didn’t need the coat really!). Otherwise oversized/boyfriend knits are good as will do for maternity and once baby is here. Plus comfy leggings and some nice socks!

I was adamant I wasn't going to spend loads on pregnancy clothes so I've been wearing loose dresses from Matalan, Morrisons and Asda. I also love looking in the charity shops too and just buy dresses a size bigger! :)
