Anyone recommend a soft, powdery, sweet violet frag please?

Yes please! I used to love Penhaligons Violetta, Angel and Angel Violette.
I now wear Shay and Blue Black Tulip, which is gorgeous, but I'm hankering for a second frag just for those days when you fancy a change.
It's more difficult at the mo to try scents with the old mask on, so could anyone suggest anything please?
Many thanks in advance!

Goodbye Piccadillyby 4160 Tuesdays is very violetty

Meripenopause · 19/10/2020 08:01

Alaia Eau de Parfum Blanche is a powdery vanilla with loads of violet and very sweet (I now really want to try that Vanille Violet one).

Thanks, I'm hoping to be able to spray some of these suggestions onto paper cards today in the shops so I can get an idea of the scent.
Quite excited for my blind buy though - I will report back when it arrives!Smile

Feerie by Van Cleef and Arpels

Doesn't often get mentioned but is a really lovely violet

TheSeedsOfADream · 19/10/2020 11:04

@Baronessbomburst, aside from agreeing with you about Apres L'Ondee being quite the nicest softest violet, I'm rolling my trouser leg and giving you a secret handshake! Hope you are well. (Ex FZ, Italy blabla) Grin

Hello! @TheSeedsOfADream
You still imbibing wine-based beverages in public spaces? Grin

TheSeedsOfADream · 19/10/2020 11:20

Grin more like a cuppa these days, but yes. Still here. Still me.

No recommendations, but I wanted to thank you for the thread title, OP - in gaming a frag is a kill in a deathmatch. All those adjectives made for quite the mental image before I clocked that this is in S&B! Grin

TwilightSkies · 19/10/2020 11:26

Ultraviolet by Paco Rabanne might fit your description?

LaBellina · 19/10/2020 11:57

La Violette by Annick Goutal.

Very nice but rather pricey, unfortunately.

OP here's a selection of perfumes that contain violet notes. You can read the reviews of any individual scent to see how others described it.

Haffiana · 19/10/2020 13:13

I love violet scents and have most mentioned here.
Apres l'Ondee is not a powdery violet at all and unless it has been reformulated recently beyond recognition, is an iris/Hawthorne/heliotrope scent with the faintest hint of violet...

However there is a Guerlain that fits the bill exactly: Meteorites. A soft, lovely and frankly kissable scent! Similar to the violet part of Insolence without the Berry notes.

We aim to please, albeit unintentionally, haha!Grin Update: scent is so completely individual, isn't it! I didn't like Kenzo Flower or Apres L'Ondee and thought Insolence was quite nice (you're right, you definitely get a hit of powdery soft violet.) I think my nose likes gourmand scents better, so vanilla and violet as opposed to a greener violet. I'm actually really excited therefore for Les Senteurs Vanille Violette to arrive. Hopefully that soft yummy scent I'm after. I got distracted in Molton Brown earlier and got a sample of Milk Musk - can't stop sniffing that! It's lovely! I remember two more scents I used to go mad for - Molton Brown Violet Vanilla and Jo Malone Rosewater and Vanilla cologne intense. Both sadly discontinued. I must just want to smell like sweets!Grin

Squiffany · 19/10/2020 18:47

Have you looked on 4160Tuesday for something a little different?

MrPanks · 19/10/2020 19:02

I'd be interested to see what you think of the LSV one when it arrives OP. Will you report back please?

Eaumyword · 19/10/2020 19:25

LSV Vanille Violette has arrived this morning, superfast postage.
It is GORGEOUS.
I can't stop sniffing my wrist!
It is that perfect mix of gentle violet and soft vanilla and it is quite reminiscent of my favourite Molton Brown discontinued Vanilla Violet from a couple of years ago.
Thank you so much, S&B experts - I'm absolutely thrilled with this blind buy. It's delicious.
