I bought them recently from Matalan- cheap and cheerful. I'd like a pair in the same style but preferably leather, and better quality. Budget of £150

Timberlands?

Timberlands are a bit chunky for what I'm after. I've been wearing these with opaque tights and nice autumn dresses

Clarke’s did something called an Orinoco Spice last year that looks quite similar, might be a tinier bit chunkier but not full on Timberland chunky. The Orinoco this year is very different style though with extra buckles and bits. Maybe check out their outlets to see if you can find old stock?

I know you said no to Timberlands but honestly these are lovely, i have them in black and green and would love to get brown ones too. I wouldn't like too chunky boots either and I don't think these are

Timberland do lots of styles, not just the typical chunky ones you might be thinking of. They’re not bulky at all. I’ve got several pairs and can wear them with pretty much everything, barring a bikini.

M&S have a few hiker boots atm, what about these:

These are lovely in black and brown and I wear with thick tights and dresses/leggings and tunic or skinny jeans, incredibly comfy too.
