Do you keep your cosmetics in their boxes?

Just that really. Some I do, if it's limited edition or pretty or a way of keeping it secure in my bag (I don't really trust lipsticks or eyeshadow palettes that have a magnetic closure,) and I have some Easter themed eyeshadow palettes that are just easier to store in their respective boxes. I've been thinking about it, because most eyeshadow palettes I own don't really need the boxes, but I keep the palettes in them anyway.

Absolutely not. That’s a bit weird unless you’re a makeup collector or intend to resell.

I might keep special boxes (elsewhere), but I wouldn’t keep my makeup in it’s retail packaging by default. Bit of a faff when you want to use it, no? I wouldn’t be able to store it all as the packaging would increase the footprint.

I have a designated makeup vanity with drawers for storage, and I also have some Muji acrylic boxes. When travelling with makeup, I just keep it in a designated cosmetic bag (that can be wiped clean). I haven’t had a problem with lipstick leaking or the lid coming loose in my bag either - what product is it? The lid should be secure.

No. I don't know anyone who does that.

Sparklyring · 15/10/2020 16:30

Definitely not.

LionessRoar · 15/10/2020 16:45

No and never heard of anyone else doing this either

FatimaLovesBread · 15/10/2020 16:47

I do and I've been debating getting rid of the boxes as my muji storage is now full and its a pain in the arse putting everything away again. I'll join you in the box weirdness

Purplecatshopaholic · 15/10/2020 16:49

No, never heard of that. Just more faff to get at the product IMO.

AgentProvocateur · 15/10/2020 16:52

As an aside, what are ‘Easter-themed eyeshadows”?

SapphireSeptember · 15/10/2020 18:07

@FatimaLovesBread Ahh, at least it's not just me then. Grin Case in point, I have Colourpop eyeshadow palettes still in their boxes, which I have no intention of getting rid of because they feel lovely and velvety.

@AgentProvocateur I have some egg shaped eyeshadow palettes and some bunny shaped ones (courtesy of Revolution.)

I am a bit of a make-up collector, but I just do it for the fun of it, I have no blog or YT channel because I can't be bothered with the faff of dping all that. I just really really like make up and have done for years.

The only thing i keep in it's box is my Revitalash. Mainly because it cost me about a million pounds (disclaimer: slight exaggeration) and partly because the box is flash :)

Welshponyslave · 15/10/2020 20:34

I have with a couple of things where the box is much prettier than the case of the product. The blusher from this months Glossybox is one such example

FatimaLovesBread · 15/10/2020 20:43

Right, you've convinced me, I need to get rid of the boxes. Except my naked palettes, I might keep them in theirs

TokyoSushi · 15/10/2020 20:44

Yes! Everything in its box, I've been doing it for about the last 25 years!

SapphireSeptember · 18/10/2020 18:05

Glad I'm not alone, some things just look/feel nicer in the box. Grin
