It's DH's birthday late November, he'd like a new winter coat, in the past he's had northface , the odd superdry body warmer etc.
We're just about to have our bathroom done and now have a toddler, the northface website prices made my eyes water.
Can I get anything that's warm, practical, but not completely 'I'm a geography teacher in a field trip'? It's the first year he'll be closer to forty than thirty, so definitely won't want anything my dad might wear (even though he dresses quite nicely), but equally he doesn't want to look like he's trying to be down with the kids.... Budget is probably around £150, I've booked us a meal at a restaurant we frequented pre DS and a nice hotel (if we're not in lockdown again by then) , so I've already rescinded a bit on our agreement to not spend too much this year. For context he's had a really hard time at work during Covid (frontline keyworker) and has completed a professional post-grad at the same time, which will be over by his birthday, so I do want to spoil him a little bit.
