I need a christening outfit!

Getting DD2 christened very soon, quite last minute! As it stands with COVID only me, DH and DD1 will be there, along with DD2.

I've recently bought some red heels that I love, was hoping I could wear those Grin

I'm 5ft 6, size 10, dark blonde hair.

Don't want to spend a lot as it's literally the four of us going to the church and potentially coming straight back home, maybe £30?

Any finds would be much appreciated!

@nancybotwinbloom really like that! Could be the one Grin

I was initially looking for something with long sleeves as I'm expecting the church to be cold! I'd ordered a navy floral midi dress from pretty little thing but it looks dreadful on me.

I have the dress you like.

It's in the wardrobe for post Covid when I have lost some weight Blush

Bit harsh. So what if she will look "footballers wives"

Anyone can wear what they want to church.

Doesn't mean their beliefs are any different or any less meaningful.

If the church is so accepting of people with shared beliefs why would you or your congregation judge.

I am footballers wives looking but it doesn't learn my beliefs or my practising in them.

No wonder this generation are not visiting churches or places of worship as much as the previous generation.

"Bible Gateway Matthew 7 :: NIV. "Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you."

For my godsons Christening I wore a Wallis dress black bodycon midi with a floral pattern; with a fitted pink cardi from Dorothy Perkins & rose gold pointed flats from M&S.

I also took my smart faux black leather jacket from Dorothy Perkins & omg so glad I did!! I didn't know churches could get so cold!! I spent the whole time wearing it zipped up!
So a word of warning there - take a smart coat & wear tights!

I didn't look 'footballers wife' (snobbish expression) as I don't have the orange tan or the lips, my outfit was just pretty & fitted in nicely.

The Vicar was lovely & welcoming to ALL of us & I think he guessed I hadn't been christened myself despite becoming a godparent but didn't let on bless him.

The other churchgoers were friendly too as I believe Christians are meant to be.

So wear something nice that you will feel good in plus warm, & take plenty of nice photos to remember the day.

Btw the church my godson was Christened in was High Church CofE.

Ps don't mean to offend anyone who does wear tan & have filled lips obviously!
