I’m trying to find some new jeans but I’m struggling to find any that are comfortable.

I currently wear Topshop Jamie, skinny high waist in mid-blue wash. Theyre lovely and soft and very comfortable but they bag quickly so I’d like a better quality without sacrificing comfort.

I’d also like them to be slightly less skinny (so they dont cut off my circulation).

Willing to pay up to £180 or so.

I live in the middle of nowhere so cant pop to a shopping centre.

Any suggestion?

My favourite jeans are from J Brand, Citizens of Humanity and 7 For All Mankind - good quality and don’t lose their shape. Have you looked at the Outnet? They always have hundreds of jeans in stock, premium brands but at discount prices.

PerfidiousAlbion · 13/10/2020 18:29

Thanks. I used to own a pair of 7forallmankind jeans and they were great. Im a funny shape though so find it difficult to shop. Essentially I only have a slightly defined waist and rather straight hips/bum and thighs. A lot of jeans seem to be cut for curves.

Look on blackandwhitedenim website for good selection of decent jeans.

I bought Next Slim cut regular length jeans size 14 recently £32 & they're a very good fit & nice stretchy denim.

I'm 5'4" so have to roll them up a bit which is fashionable now luckily!

Because I'm too tall for Petite range!

I have some Dinas from Huit Denim, so high waist skinny fit (but not OTT skinny). They're amazing. They look great on but are really comfy and importantly, they don't bag. I definitely recommend them. They're just a hint over your budget at £185.

For designer Mother or for high street Muji or Levis.

PerfidiousAlbion · 15/10/2020 04:13

Im going to ho for the Hiut Denim i think. They look great.

I’d forgotten about blackwhiteanddenim as my local one has either closed or moved.

I actually bought the Next slim fit but i find them too corset like and the rise isnt high enough plus, the ankle seems seem to create a weird mini fare.

@PerfidiousAlbion they've relocated. I've never been in real life but confess I watch all her styling videos and message for sizing advice! So friendly

DarlingCoffee · 15/10/2020 09:06

My favourite are Rag & Bone

albird · 15/10/2020 09:17

I bought some Levi 524s last year and they are really comfortable - not too skinny on the leg, high waisted and very soft.

PerfidiousAlbion · 15/10/2020 10:22

@DarlingCoffee

My favourite are Rag & Bone
Interesting.

What’s the fit like with Rag&Bone?

It’d be great to find some that were very soft and comfortable but also gave a bit of a lift in the bum area. I find most jeans are too tight on the waist and too big around the thighs.

DarlingCoffee · 15/10/2020 12:37

Hi @PerfidiousAlbion The denim is soft and of good quality. It has a nice stretch to it as well which I am grateful for around the stomach area! I don’t think they give much of a bum lift to be honest. but the high waisted ones are just really comfortable and look good without feeling like you’re being pinched around the waist. They also wash well.

sarahwil1 · 15/10/2020 16:19

Weekday do pretty affordable and very comfortable/durable jeans (about 40£) and Levis do some very nice jeans but they are obviously a bit more expensive. I like that with both brands you can choose in-between sizes (e.g. 28,29,30,31 waist - not just 10/12/14) and also lengths (I'm quite tall so always look out for that when buying jeans lol).

CakeInMyFace · 15/10/2020 17:38

Not as pricey but I like the hush skinnies, I bought the Ingrid ones and are £75.

Bizarrely I randomly bought a pair of Red Herring £25 Jean's (called Holly) and have also lived in those! Red Herring at Debenhams Smile

PerfidiousAlbion · 15/10/2020 21:02

Thanks @DarlingCoffee that’s good to know.

@sarahwil1 that’s brilliant because I’m an odd shape to 1” size increments would be very useful.

Ive not been impressed with Hush @CakeInMyFace as I bought a pair of joggers in the summer and even though I got the 10, they were oddly baggy on the thighs but very short and rode up my calves and I’m only 5’ 6”

I’m going to have to bite the bullet and order them all aren’t I!

Sooverthemill · 16/10/2020 07:48

@PerfidiousAlbion @CakeInMyFace hush sizing is a bit hit and miss. I have several pairs of jeans in size 8 which are great but their skinnies just didn't fit size 8 or 10.

CakeInMyFace · 16/10/2020 10:55

@PerfidiousAlbion and @sooverthemill I hear you. I've sent back lots of jeans from Hush but for some reason the skinnies work for me! I'll definitely take a look at some of the other recommendations on here though as I am a bit of a jeans addict. Am on the hunt for a black pair and have never managed to find a pair of black jeans I like!.

Sooverthemill · 16/10/2020 11:22

@CakeInMyFace I have a brilliant pair from frame ( le high straight), a washed black pair from Citizens of Humanity ( charlotte) and my favourite believe it or not is the Boden girlfriend from last season. I want to try the Baukjen ones too but need a discount. I have too many pairs of jeans

CakeInMyFace · 16/10/2020 11:33

@Sooverthemill oooo thank you for the recommendations, I will take a look!

PerfidiousAlbion · 16/10/2020 20:32

I’ve heard good things about Baukjen too.

7 for all mankind are the best I've found. They don't lose shape, and are about the only jeans that fit me in my actual size. Any other jean I seem to have to size up quite a bit in Confused I've not tried any other high ended jean in the same price range though.

gindinner · 16/10/2020 22:15

I like J brand, or Paige. I've never got on with Levi's.

Sooverthemill · 17/10/2020 09:25

@PerfidiousAlbion I have a couple of pairs from Baukjen and the quality is great.

My favourite premium denim
Is MIH I think

Itsabeautifuldaytosavelives123 · 17/10/2020 11:25

Baukjen sizing is off, need at least one size larger in some and normal in others.

Itsabeautifuldaytosavelives123 · 17/10/2020 11:25

Also the black jeans I bought from Baukjen is fading after just a few washes Sad
