Fashionable trainers for DD11

Does anyone know what brands and styles of trainers are fashionable for tweens? I want to get some for my DDs 11th birthday but no doubt my idea of cool will not correspond with hers. She wants a surprise so I don’t want to ask her.

Tends to be mainly Nike. Any of the Nike Air Max or Airforce One. Pricey though, if she still fits in the kids of junior range then will be a bit cheaper.

But i wouldn’t buy trainers for DC’s if I didn’t know what they liked. Could end up being an expensive mistake!

Vans or Air Force one's round here. Or those clompy fila ones that make them walk funny.

Trying81 · 12/10/2020 20:23

Nike Air Force 1
Nike Air Max 270
Fila Disruptor

Vans or Converse high tops

uncomfortablydumb53 · 13/10/2020 14:22

Adidas superstars are popular here

bendmeoverbackwards · 13/10/2020 15:34

Not Filas any more! Can't go wrong with Nike Air Force 1s

TokyoSushi · 13/10/2020 15:35

Agree Nike Air Force 1 are like a uniform around here!

gindinner · 13/10/2020 20:56

Nike Air Force 1s here. Nike everything.

Iliketeaagain · 14/10/2020 19:50

Can you show her pictures of various models on trainers, make comments about your opinion and see how she reacts? My dd absolutely did not want Air Force ones / filas etc, instead went for Adidas gazelles. Probably not "the coolest" but that's what she chose!

peanutbutterandbananas · 14/10/2020 20:49

Superga?

AriettyHomily · 14/10/2020 20:54

Do you know what her mates wear?

waitforitwaitforit · 14/10/2020 20:55

Superga is a mummy trainer. It's all vans and these white Adidas with black stripes.

LynetteScavo · 14/10/2020 21:28

Not Superga! They're for mums or children whose Mums chose for them (and they're quite heavy IMO)

You can't go wrong with white airforce 1s.

My DD also has Nike trainers for actual sports and several pairs of Vans, but I don't count those as trainers.

LynetteScavo · 14/10/2020 21:31

I think it depends on where you live as to what is trendy. I haven't seen a pair of Adidas by my front door for ages, and I see quite a lot of teenagers shoes left by my front door.
