Winter wardrobe advice!

I'm 50, 5"3 and 12-14 (I wear 12 bottoms and 14 tops) and I'm looking for smart casual stuff to wear (don't know why I'm bothering as we may well be spending the winter at home anyway!)

In the day I wear skinny jeans/trainers/overshirts but just want something a bit smarter for going out. I'm definitely not a dress and heels kind of person but I quite like the fatface type dresses with tights/boots, unfortunately I have big calves so can never get boots to fit (I like the FLY boots)

Any ideas about what might suit me? I have a relatively small bum but larger waist which doesn't do me any favours!

Skinny jeans can be smart, with a trendy shirt (printed or ruffle) - wear with heeled boots.
Suede stretch/elastic knee high boots would be good for you, I got some as I have big calves. ASOS & New Look have some nice floral/ditsy print dresses at the moment as well.

I do actually have some suede stretch boots but they are quite high, I'd like some with a low wedge or chunky heel I think. What sort of boots would you wear with skinny jeans?
