GHDs or go for something else?

I need some help. I've always had GHDs and my 3rd pair has just gone bang due to the cord getting so twisted despite my best efforts that it doesn't. All 3 pairs have had twisting issues and so I'm really tempted to buy some different ones. I have 2 questions I suppose:

1 Has anyone bought GHDs within the last couple of years and the cord issue is fixed

2 Has anyone swapped from GHDs to another brand and can give me a recommendation. GHDs still come out top in all the tests so I'm reluctant to swap but could be persuaded.

Please help!

I've heard good things about cloud9!

I did a bit of Googling this week and actually ordered cloud nine. One of the founders of GHD set up cloud nine. They haven't arrived yet so I can't give a review yet!

Third for the Cloud 9! Far, far better than GHDs - and mine hasn't broken for years. (I replaced my GHDs twice at least.)

@decoraters - you won't be disappointed!

Whats the cord issue? I've have ghds for 15 years and never heard of this?

I replaced my GHDs with cloud 9. Think mine are the original ones.
My hair was quite damaged and I loved that I could control the temperature.

@ClaireE1974,
I went for: www.cloudninehair.com/products/the-wide-iron?variant=32960908132440

Sorry, no idea how to do a clicky link

Original Cloud 9s for sure!

I replaced my GHD 6 years with the L’Oréal Steampod and it was amazing. I didn’t get any split ends using the steampod and my hair was silky soft & shiny. I’m doing the curly girl method now so it’s collecting dust but I think it’s much better than GHd & Cloud 9 (which I have also used)

I’m a huge fan of the L’Oreal Steampod. I feel it leaves my hair in much better condition and unlike my GHDs still works to keep my hair straight even on humid, rainy days. I first came across the salon version of this in a salon in Cyprus when my thick hair kept curling up in the humidity.
It’s just as quick as ghds and better for my hair.
