Curly hair routine

So have been straightening my hair for year and I am now keen to embrace my natural beauty! I have curly hair, wash with silicone/sulphate free shampoo conditioner every 3 days or so (gets too dry otherwise). Leave to dry naturally and looks lovely on the day then sleep on it and it is a frizzy mess in the morning! Can you please tell me about your curly hair routine? Possibly products/tricks to try? Smile

You probably need something for hold like a mousse or gel. Sleep wise some people pineapple their hair up, use a silk scarf/pillowcase or a buff

I sprat on day two or three and scrunch. Using either plain water of sea salt spray.

And i Only condition rather than shampoo mainly

I only wash my hair once a week now. Always use a deep conditioner and a leave in conditioner.
Then put on mouse and gel.
I dry with a diffuser otherwise I have no volume.
Tie up in a pineapple for sleeping reduces frizz a lot.

Have a look at a few curly Instagramers. I find marisacurls, hanzcurls and type_of beautiful excellent and informative.

As pp have said pineapple hair in a silk or satin bonnet or scarf at night really helps maintain the curls.

When conditioning in the shower you need to really squish the conditioner in your sopping wet hair, pulse squishing or else the water and conditioner just goes down the drain. marisacurls has a good video showing how it’s done.

Sorry it’s marisascurls

Yes I sleep with a silk bonnet. Very sexy. It does help a lot. I just spray my hair with a little water mist in the morning and it's fine for 3 days.

I have finally discovered the best way to keep my ringlets soft and glossy.

I wash my hair every other day with this:

soulandsoap.co.uk/collections/solid-shampoo/products/jasmin-solid-shampoo-bar-vegan?variant=29241651232855

I then condition with this (fabulous] and comb through to the ends:

I dab my hair gently with a towel to take off the worst of the wetness.

And finish with this curl cream which makes the curls soft and glossy. I am very gentle so as not to disturb the curls when applying.

I let it dry naturally.

On the second day, I omit washing but do the rest of the routine.

Whoops. Shampoo and conditioner wrong way round in links.
