Outdoor Winter Clothing

Since there are no suitable indoor activities fit toddlers running near to me at the moment, I'm anticipating having to spend rather more time than usual outside this winter with DS (he is a very active, outdoorsy 2 year old). Would ski wear be OTT? Or just not suitable? I dont mind being outside, I just dont want to be cold! I have a long warm coat, thick hat , scarf and gloves normally, and these are fine on the school run, but when hanging around the park etc I get very chilly. Help! What is the best clothing to wear?

I’d invest in a good down jacket. Mountaineering brands tend to be more ethical than fashion brands. I’d suggest waist/thigh length, as it will keep your organs warm, which is what mostly counts , along with your head, in keeping you warm. this is mine.

Also, some warm, waterproof boots

And merino wool base layers.,I hear good things about Uniqlo Heatech baselayers too.

Honestly I wouldn't give a fiddle and I would absolutely wear ski gear, and on my toddler too! Warmth and dryness is more important.

I have a winter parka and a long down coat but either are
Fully waterproof.

Ski gear is perfect and what I'll

You need to think about the underneath layers. Vest, long sleeve top, jumper/fleece, tights/leggings under trousers too.
