What do you think of this coat? I just want something simple for casual every day nursery run etc that isn't too grumpy but I really don't want to spend a fortune

I quite like the coat, but I really don't like the colour!

Miseryisabutterfly · 09/10/2020 23:02

I think it’s ok but I prefer this www.zara.com/ie/en/water-repellent-puffer-coat-p08073237.html

Sorry, my phone was on night mode and it looked a lot greener 😂

Looks like a potato

Monty27 · 10/10/2020 07:12

Yes OP brighter colour and more . fitted. You don't want to walk around in a sleeping bag

askinfforfriend · 10/10/2020 09:34

@MozzchopsThirty

Hideous colour It's an 'I've married, had kids & given up' coat

Sorry

Couldn't disagree more! Stylish colour, specially with black, navy and jeans. For me, the got married and given up colours are the bright joules and seasalt ones, the boden patterns, those 'look how brave I am with colour' colours!
GoldfishParade · 10/10/2020 10:24

I am sorry but this is my idea if a nightmare coat. Horrible colour, hate the kind of quilting. I really dislike down style jackets generally though. Cant you get a parka?!

MikeUniformMike · 10/10/2020 13:26

It's fine and doesn't look grumpy at all.

Fabuleuse · 10/10/2020 14:00

I've just ordered a Trespass Audrey coat in black. No idea if it'll be nice or not but it comes in a similar colour to yours, is properly waterproof and mine was only £40 via M&M direct. It's a bit longer and looks more fitted. Mid 30s, married, had kids and love my practical outerwear! I like the colour too - I like my coats to be neutrals or maybe dark jewel tones and not the Joules style bright pink or yellow etc. Just thought I'd throw it out there for consideration.

VinylDetective · 10/10/2020 14:55

The Zara one’s lovely. Much, much nicer.

Tamtam86 · 10/10/2020 18:29

Thanks for the suggestions, I really like the Uniqlo one, I do love that Zara one too but I'm worried one like that would swamp me (I'm 5'4 so not tiny but definitely not tall) the trespass one is nice but I don't want fur on the hood.

I don't think I'll be going for anything colourful, that's really not my style so definitely want a neutral... I'm thinking I'll probably get another black coat in the end... And I know a lot of people have said something more fitted and maybe I'm crazy but I do prefer the puffier non fitted ones

I do appreciate all the input, thank you!

The Uniqlo one is from a petite thread so should be fine for someone as tall as 5'4" 😊

CharlottesComplicatedWeb · 11/10/2020 10:44

Looks warm to me. Is it waterproof?

You see loads of these about.

Dingdong99 · 11/10/2020 21:42

I like it!!
