What does a blowdry actually entail?

If I book in for just a blowdry what should I be expecting to receive? My hair washed and dried? Or styled too? (I.e. curls/straightened) my hairdresser friend said it would be like the ending of a cut/colour appointment but obviously without the cut and colour but wondering if it varies between salons

Yes wash, blow-dry, styling of your choice

If you want something like a bouncy blow dry or GHD curls it’s usually good to specify as some will charge differently/need to allot additional time to do that.

I think it also depends on how long/think your hair is. Some places I pay more because my hair falls into the 'long and thick' category and even then I'm lucky if they have time to get a curling iron out once they are done with the round brush.

My friend who has a similar length but thinner hair can often get it fully stlyed.
