Cashmere bed socks

Odile13 · 08/10/2020 10:14

I am thinking of getting my sister some cashmere bed socks for Christmas. We both have very cold feet and wear socks at night and I thought they would be a nice treat. If you have them, do you think they’re worth it and can you recommend a brand?

Thank you!

White company cashmere socks are lovely.

VinylDetective · 08/10/2020 10:50

I’ve just been looking at these. John Lewis have some lovely ones for £20.

Odile13 · 08/10/2020 13:43

Thank you both, I’ll check them out!

I get a pair every Christmas from DH from the white company they're so good

Bejazzled · 08/10/2020 22:14

Brand Alley have some nice ones in their Outlet

BeaLola · 08/10/2020 23:01

The White Company although I saw M&S had some online

If you are going to get from TWC I would wait hit their next 20% off offer

SparklingLime · 09/10/2020 10:42

You can’t wear TWC ones out of bed, to pop to the bathroom or anything, or they go into holes very quickly. This might be obvious, but I didn’t realise it and ruined mine.

teta · 09/10/2020 11:04

I've just bought two pairs in fuchsia & cream from Brand Alley for £18.00 each.

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 09/10/2020 16:48

Mine came from Woolovers, but a while ago now.

Blownaway22 · 09/10/2020 16:59

SparklingLime, that’s exactly what happened mine. I wore them in the evenings for a couple of hours when I was sitting downstairs in my pjs, sheepskin slippers too. Within 3 months (not every day wear) there were holes in the heels. So disappointed as they are so warm and cosy .... and not cheap.

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 09/10/2020 19:41

Cashmere is beautiful, but not robust. If you want to plod around in them, a cashmere blended with another wool is better.

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 09/10/2020 19:45

Woolovers currently have a 10%cashmere/90% merino socks at £22. 10% discount for new customers, many colours.

DH bought me some lovely pale pink ones last year (with matching big scarf and gloves) I've worn the scarf and gloves lots, but last night was the first time i finally wore the socks. In bed obvs. OMG they were soooo warm!

To be honest i could only keep them on for half an hour or so.

sunshineandshowers40 · 09/10/2020 19:57

I had some from The a White Company a couple of years ago and loved them!

supercatlady · 09/10/2020 20:02

I love these recycled ones from Turtle Dove www.turtle-doves.co.uk/products/bed-socks

caffeinebuzz · 09/10/2020 20:04

I adored my White Company ones but like others found they didn't last long even with very light activity. I have a pair of John Lewis ones at the moment which aren't quite as soft and luxurious, but are lasting much better.

Odile13 · 09/10/2020 20:59

Thanks very much for the recommendations and advice! It's good to know about holes developing if you walk around in them - I hadn't thought of that.

Another vote for white company.. My anorexic dsd has cold feet... Really cold feet due to having poor circulation and nil body fat.. She also has super sensitive skin... She loves them

WellThankyouAJPTaylor · 09/10/2020 21:11

Opened thread to say yes, they're lovely, but don't walk about in them, but I see several people have got there first Grin

They go holey in no time flat, even with slippers on, as a PP said.

VinylDetective · 09/10/2020 21:26

I’ve gone right off them now. I’d cry if I inadvertently ruined a £20 pair of socks. They’re obviously not for people who have to make a nocturnal stumble to the loo.
