Leather look jeans - does a perfect pair exist?

I'm a wobbly size 12 and desperate to get some leather look jeans to wear with cosy jumpers and boots for autumn. I've seen lots of women looking amazing in this type of outfit so bought a few pairs but here are my issues:

• New Look version - look nice but the fabric makes a really odd scratchy, plasticky noise when I walk (no thigh gap here!)

• Spanx leather leggings - no weird noise and very comfortable, but VERY tight being Spanx (potential camel toe territory). Also really thin fabric so pretty chilly

Does a perfect pair exist which don't feel, sound or look weird in some way? I had a third pair (can't remember where from) and they bagged at the knee after one wear!

Where are all of you put-together ladies finding your leather jeans?

Last year I got mine in M&S, they are more leather sheen than the full on rubbery ones. They have a really high waist which gives a lovely shape. Haven’t seen them this year yet

I got a lovely pair from River Island.

Also, look on eBay! There are loads of barely worn coated jeans on there, from all different shops.

Thanks! I've just ordered a pair of leather leggings from M&S so will give them a go. It's such a nice look and compared to my usual scruffy jeans would just look a bit more stylish I think (hope!)

Good shout, thank you - couldn't find a short pair that suited on RI but have found some fab jumpers!

My mum got me some in matalan last year and they are amazing. Really flattering on, I've had loads of compliments on them.

I've got a burgundy pair from Primark. They're coated so they're more matte than high shine but I love them and they've last pretty well.

For everyday wear I have these from ASOS, wearing them with chunky knitwear and Stan smiths at the moment. I was going to buy the Spanx ones, as recommended on style and beauty but thought I would just see what the much cheaper ones were like first and I’m so pleased with them.

For more dressy, going out (if that ever happens again), I’ve got a pair from Matalan.

I will also get these from Bershka (when and if they come back in stock) as I like the slightly different style.

Oooh they look good @smileannie. I wondered what the ASOS ones were like. Is the material thick or are they actually like leggings?

Topshop do a leather look leggings. The fit and look is good too.

Hush do some nice looking ones

I got the MS ones last year. Gutted I only got 1 pair and have been searching desperately for a replacement since. The Spanx ones in my opinion are not worth it.

I managed to bag some of these in black before they went out of stock and am hoping they're the ones you've all got and like!

I work in next and have a few pairs .. they are all pretty good . If you have an account you can order loads to try online for free . They sell branded ones too so just try loads .

The only leather trousers I have are proper motorbike ones so have kevlar knees but the same manufacturer makes them for non motorbike use too which I've just ordered, I'll let you know - my motorbike ones make me look two sizes smaller and are so comfortable but are real leather not synthetic and cost £170 (normal for bike gear) hence ordering more

I got some off boohoo years ago, actually only worn them a couple of times but they're great, very flattering, don't sag etc

I got some Massimo Dutti coated jeans last year and love them. Comfortable and flattering.

I have an amazing pair from lk bennett had them 6 years worn them loads they look like new. I did work there at the time and got a huge discount so that helped.

For info the M&S ones are back in stock. I picked some up today and they are perfect! Thanks all for your suggestions
