Leggings for the over 50s

Honestly, are they one step nearer the pull on elasticated trouser of the elderly lady brigade?

Found some nice comfortable ones, high waisted from M&S. Loathe to buy more in case I'm treading that fine line. I know I shouldn't really care, they're comfortable and look great with longer jumpers, but something's stopping me...

Any fellow over 50s here happy with leggings, and where do you buy them?

I wear leggings a lot. Today I have an ice grey pair on with a matching coloured sweatshirt dress. I'm 51. I do not choose my clothes on the basis of my age, I choose what looks good and what I like to wear. I buy my leggings from Love Leggings because they are very reasonably priced, thick and flattering. Wear your leggings OP!

www.uniqlo.com/uk/en/product/women-ultra-stretch-leggings-trousers-429114COL09SMA004000.html these uniqlo are great, they're thick and don't cling but look good and last ages

I think as long as they are good quality and fit well then there isn't an age limit. I think the issue with leggings is when they're badly fitting or too thin/poor quality fabric

I am 70 plus, and wear leggings, at home.in the garden, and walking etc.
I don't buy expensive ones, as I am quite slim with decent legs, so I usually get them online at Leggings World. Different colours and thicknesses etc. I am a 10/12 size. but sometimes size up a bit as some can be a bit tight fitting.

I think you have to be careful what you wear them with, and what for. So I'll wear them in the house, and for anything exercise related, like a walk, but not anywhere I'd care what I looked like!
I am not slim, but have decent legs. I think even with a jumper dress and boots, tights would be better. I do wear them under longish dresses, but as underwear rather than as part of an outfit.
If you are in good shape, maybe you can get away with wearing them out, but I don't want to be displaying any less than perfect parts. Which actually means I am quite covered up these days!

Interesting comments, and all very true, Ladies. Thank you.

Yes, I shall wear my leggings, probably get a couple more pairs but only for in and around the house and casual walks. The uniqlo model is far younger and has a better figure than I do. I'll stick with the M&S ones, but thanks for confidence boost. You're right, there's no age limit but be a bit careful about what to wear with. I'm no spring chicken and never did look like one.

I wear leggings a lot, especially in winter, my thickest are from mint velvet , followed by some with stripe down the side from New Look, the rest are from M&S. I tend to wear them instead of black tights
