Rainproof trainers recommendations!!

samjamsam · 04/10/2020 09:57

Looking for some shower/rain proof trainers, help me find some good ones please:

  • Under £80 but ideally no more than £50ish
  • Stylish - I normally wear black mesh Nike trainers but they are so not rainproof
  • Very comfortable.

Thank you!

Following this! I walk everywhere and had to resort to some very unfashionable trespass waterproof trousers last week. I’ve seen some nice vented leggings on Zara that say they are water resistant, but I don’t really wear leggings either...

Oh my god, ignore me. You’re looking for trainers 😂

I got some from Ecco but they aren't cheap! Unless they have a sale?

Try sportsshoes.com and look at trail running/walking shoes.

DH has some new balance black trail runners which he says are genuinely keeping his feet dry.

Ecco are good. You'll be looking at around £120 for waterproof ones, though.

greyinganddecaying · 04/10/2020 14:07

Leather trainers? I have Nike Air Force ones that don't leak.

Titsinknicks · 04/10/2020 14:59

I find most leather trainers (I have Adidas shell toe things or whatever they're called) are good enough for walking around town or whatever and have walking shoes for if I'm going for a walk when it's raining or when it's been raining and is really muddy out.

travailtotravel · 04/10/2020 16:00

I have expensive walking shoes that are ace. I also have some skechers that I waterproofed with Nik wax ....

Pinkcadillac · 04/10/2020 20:15

Check Sorel, they have a good range

Muchtoomuchtodo · 04/10/2020 20:18

The trouble is, if they’re waterproof any water that does get in stays in and it gets very squelchy!

MsMartini · 04/10/2020 20:20

I have Decathlon trail running trainers - not fully waterproof but better than normal trainers. And some Columbia and before that Decathlon (so similar I think maybe same manufacturer) walking trainers that are waterproof and I sometimes run a bit in.

I made the same mistake!

I was about to comment "Waterproof Trousers" and stylish don't appear to go togetherGrin

😂 glad I wasn’t the only one!
