Shape wear shorts, not high waist

Hoping someone can help.

I'm getting married in 4 weeks (COVID permitting 🙄) and need to find a pair of nude shape wear shorts that are seamless and not the high waisted type - just regular belly button height.

I bought M&S magicwear but accidentally got the heigh waisted pair. I found them to be really slimming under dress but the high waist wasn't right. My dress is low at the back so they were too high but they had major roll down issues.

Then tried Spanx medium control ones but they too sat a bit too high and also roll down. At my dress fitting yesterday, I also noticed that they didn't smooth as good as the M&S ones, and I could see the dreaded orange peel on my butt through the dress.

I need the shorts because my dress is crepe and fitted around bum. It then goes out just under the bum.

I can't buy the ones with straps to stop roll down as my dress sits off shoulder, so you would see the straps.

Any ideas ladies?

Wolford have control shorts.

My experience is that it's important to buy the right size, as a too small size will result in shape wear rolling down and enhancing the bits we want to hide.

@RiskIt4Biscuit Thank you! I will check them out Smile

I hear good things about Primark shapewear

Batfinklestein · 06/10/2020 23:16

I had the same issue. The back of my wedding dress was sheer above the waist so I couldn’t wear high waisted ones.
I wore these M&S ones and they were great. They didn’t roll down

I love classic Spanx but also have you tried a good old fashioned slip under your dress? The fabric can create a lovely glidey layer between the shape wear and the dress, giving a lovely smooth look

@applepineapple I haven't tried primary but will do, thanks for the tip.

@Batfinklestein the M&S ones I initially bought where the higher waist version of these. The support was amazing but just too high. I saw these and discounted them because they were "thigh slimmers" and I really want bum and tum support. Did you find them supportive in those areas too?

@ShirleyPhallus I thought about a slip but I really need the support that shorts will bring, with no visible lines 😊

@MimiArm I think the name “thigh slimmers” is misleading. They definitely give tum and bum support.
My wedding dress had zero structure in it, so I was paranoid lumps and bumps and cellulite would show, but they didn’t at all.
I had compliments from friends on how peachy my behind looked! Grin
They’re definitely worth a try.

Try Skims (the Kim Kardashian brand) Some of them are apparently v good

I got some from Evans for my wedding. They were excellent and I wear them under maxi dresses every summer

You could buy one size up which may be

  1. more comfy
  2. less likely to roll down
