How many pairs of tights should I have?!

Have realised that I have a whole (big!) drawer of tights. Now, I am very much a tights wearer in the autumn/winter, but I’m aware that you can only wear one pair of tights at once and the number I have seems crazy!

Please help me organise my tights drawer! 🙈

Err I dunno? I have 2 black, 2 nude and that’s it. But I don’t wear dresses or skirts very often.

I tie my tights into donuts which makes them more manageable. I wear them every day, so probably 10 pairs on the go. I just bought some new packs, and will open them as I throw away a holey pair.

I wear them a lot of the winter. I’ve just opened three pairs of the fleece lined primark ones. They do bobble over time so I have three in reserve as well. Three pairs of black 100 denier open and three in reserve. Then I have navy, burgundy and grey, one pair each, all 80 denier. Back up pair of the navy. I try not to open a new pair unless the one it’s replacing is going out, so I usually do a tights wash twice a week. They go in a net bag on a hand wash cycle, although with DDs tights, bras etc.

Right, this makes me realise that I have waaaaaay to many pairs! Next question, what do I do with all the ones I’m going to get rid of? (They’re in beautiful condition!)

Dont get rid of them. Just don’t buy any more. Put the overflow in a box and take out as the older ones have to be thrown away.

Why on Earth would you get rid of tights that are in beautiful condition?

If I were you I'd get some zip up mesh bags and sort them into 'types' and once a bag is full put the rest in a mixed bag, put that somewhere else.

Then just wear them until they nibble or ladder, replacing with the spares when you run out of 'a type'

Just DO NOT buy more!!

Have you got children? Tennis ball in a foot of each and knot it in. Then you've got yourself a genuine 1970s toy.

Are you a contact lens wearer? If so, put the least good pair to one side. Next time you drop a lens and can't find it, cover the nozzle of your hoover with a layer of tight, switch it on and sweep it around. It'll soon show up!
