Hush Amie Joggers

Wore these for the first time today. They’re already really bobbly around the crotch area and have a split in the seam! I’m really disappointed in the quality. I ordered a pair of grey hareem pants too and am now reluctant to wear them in case they go the same way. Have I just been unlucky or is their quality generally not great?

The quality is generally not great. It's a shame because the clothes are very nice.

justpoppy · 03/10/2020 07:27

@MoltonSilver that really is a shame. I have my bought anything for myself since before lockdown and thought I’d get a few nice bits that I can wear to wfh. I think it’ll return the hareem pants too as they are a similar fabric.

Can anyone recommend somewhere else to get the Hush style but better quality?

Well, I have a pair of Amie joggers that I've had for about 8 months and they're fine quality wise. Washes fine, in pretty good condition overall. I don't particularly like the style but that's another matter....

justpoppy · 03/10/2020 07:35

Sorry mean to to say “I have not bought anything for myself”

I’ve had mine for 18 months and not had the issue you described. What’s the fabric makeup on the label? I can check mine to see if they have changed it. I have also had the harems for a similar amount of time and they are also fine but I don’t wear them as much. I hope you are returning them!
I have a love hate relationship with Hush as I know I’m not getting the quality I’m paying for but I like the styles. I always end up washing stuff on a hand wash cycle to be safe.
You could try Uniqlo for joggers. I’m a massive Uniqlo fan but have never tried their joggers or leggings although heard great things. The downside of Uniqlo is the colours of some ranges can be quite dull for my tastes.

ilovecherries · 03/10/2020 09:31

I’ve been wearing hush Amies several times a week since lockdown. They’ve become quite thin with multiple washing, and the blue pair has faded but no, bobbling is not an issue with any of them. Harems haven’t bobbled either, although they’ve been worn less, and therefore washed less.

breadcakebiscuits · 03/10/2020 10:48

Hush quality is really, really bad value for money. I follow the lookbook and find the pieces elsewhere.

trumpisaflump · 03/10/2020 11:16

I have the Aimie joggers in leopard and black and have worn them lots with no problems. No bobbling at all. I would contact customer services OP which I gather are great.

MooMinCow · 03/10/2020 11:27

I’ve had my pair for 2yrs+ and had no bobbling or problem at all... they wash and wear brilliantly. I did have a look at getting another pair recently and noticed that they’re now sized (10,12,14 etc) but when I got mine they were simply sized as S, M, L which does make me wonder whether the new ones are the same quality? Hmm

Grapefruitcauliflower · 03/10/2020 12:02

Hush clothes are appalling quality IMO, and hugely overpriced. But then I try not to shop for garments that I know are only going to last a season/year, which many people don’t seem bothered about. But that’s a whole other thread...

In terms of good quality, ethical alternatives, I like People Tree (although the styles can be quite hit and miss). I’ve got some heavenly joggers I bought there 5-6 years ago: beautiful thick cotton and they still look great despite lots of wear. My hush harems, by comparison, looked like rags after one summer, and cost more!

copperoliver · 03/10/2020 14:56

I have a lot of hush stuff all mine is great. X

Ellapaella · 03/10/2020 15:17

Not got the Amies but I've had the harem pants for 3 years - I wear them at least twice a week all year round (for yoga) and in the summer a lot more. Never had an issue with the quality at all and they are still going strong.
You need to return yours OP and ask for a refund given that they have bobbled and come loose so soon.

Oly4 · 03/10/2020 17:06

I agree OP. I wash all my Hush joggers at 30 and they have worn really quickly - bobbling and fading.

HipHopBanzai · 03/10/2020 17:13

My Aimes haven't bobbled or thinned at all and have been worn and washed at 30 loads.

Would definitely get in touch with Customer Services if the seam had split after only being worn a few times.

hammeringinmyhead · 03/10/2020 18:38

I have 2 year old stripy Amies and they look brand new. I would contact them.

SnapeSnapeSeverusSnape · 03/10/2020 18:52

I have two pairs, around two years old, I wear them constantly and they're only just starting to get a bit thin in places now. No bobbling at all.

justpoppy · 03/10/2020 19:00

I’m going to send them and the hareem pants back. Customer services yesterday were a bit weird and said they couldn’t email me links to the returns label (I’ve already returned the extra sizes I’d bought so don’t have the original). I’ll call them again on Monday.

Sizing wise they are huge! Another reason I bought them was that I’ve put on a fair bit of weight during lockdown. The ten fits me perfectly - I’m more a 14 these days!

Thanks for the recommendation. Going to look at Uniqlo and People Tree and order some from there.

BumbleNova · 03/10/2020 19:17

Yup - had exactly the same issue with the Amie joggers. They looked like rags very quickly. Hush is really hit or miss.

peachypetite · 03/10/2020 19:18

I had this and have never bought from hush again. Overpriced hype.

CarrieMoonbeams · 03/10/2020 19:28

I have loads of Hush stuff and the only thing I've had a problem with is a roll neck cotton top that I bought last year, it's really stretched.

I've got a few pairs of the harem pants and they've been great. My first pair have gone a bit baggy now but I've had them for nearly 3 years and I wear them loads. The sizing is hilarious though, I'm a 14 and currently wearing a pair of harem pants in a size 8! My Amie joggers are about 3 years old too and I'd say are just starting to bobble slightly.
