Which retinol for someone with reactive skin?

I know I need to start using retinol but I’ve no idea whatI should be looking for. I’m mid forties, reactive skin prone to reddening do I don’t want to annoy it to much.

Anyone with a similar skin type using a retinol with success?

Do you have rosacea? My skin is very prone to redness and flaring up (which is usually the start of a nasty breakout) but the retinols I've used have never made it worse (and maybe even improved it). Although I believe Granactive Retinol is supposed to be the most gentle in skin while still giving good results.

What worked for me is making sure my skin barrier is nice and healthy. I've been using niacinamide and can really recommend Dr Jart Cicapair products.

Yes. I have the flushing subtype. Generally my skin is okay. Lines around the eyes and the start of jowls but pretty smooth and even (accept when flushed 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️).

I started on The ordinary granactive 2% (not the squalene one). Its very gentle
