If your eyes are deep set do you bother with eyeshadow

Just wondering if I'm the only one who feels eyeshadow is a bit redundant on those of us who have this eye shape? Or have others found a way to make it work? Any particular brands or colours? (My eyes are hazel in a brown/green way if that makes any difference?)

I have more (slightly) hooded eyes due to maturing in a fine wine kind of a way Grin
The only eyeshadow I now use is a touch of light shimmer or sparkle in the inner corner, soft eye pencil/kohl in the upper water line (in navy - suits all beautifully eye brightening colour. You don't notice the blue so much, it just makes the whites whiter and any eye colour pop) and plenty of mascara (top lashes only).

PS - Bobbi Brown and Charlotte Tilbury aren't cheap but are lovely brands. Also, with your eye colour, a plum/deepest violet or aubergine would be amazing Smile

That sounds lovely - I just seem to go from 0-60 with eyeshadow so quickly, especially anything auberginey. Seems to take so little to make me look like a drag queen who's been dipped in a pond!

Have you tried using eyeliner round the outer third of your eye, top and bottom, slightly smudged? Gives definition, and the smudging softens hard edges.

I don't persevere anymore! Even when I've had my make up done for me for weddings and such it always looks way too much. I don't know if mine are particularly deep set, the smallest amount looks like I've caked it on!

There was one occasion where I managed to put a beautiful dark sparkly teal on the lid only, and it looked beautiful, but I don't know what I did differently!

Apparently Meghan Markle has hooded eyes. When she wore the green caped outfit she had bright blue on her lids which only showed when she looked down. www.cosmopolitan.com/uk/beauty-hair/celebrity-hair-makeup/a31440131/meghan-markle-blue-eyeshadow/

I’ve never bothered much with eyeshadow for this reason! I just smudge some Benefit bad gal eyeliner around and hope for the best! Maybe some glittery styling if I’m going out out Grin

*Glittery stuff
