Long belted garberdine coat

I am rolling the word garberdine around my mouth as it sounds old fashioned and glamourous.

I am looking for a long waterproof smart coat, that will keep me dry on school runs and I can also wear for formal work events - such as rememberance sunday, which I am required to attend for work, or funerals etc. Ie smart enough.

All coats seem to be knee length and I really would prefer something longer, as my legs still get wet below the knee..

I've looked at JL, Fatface, Next, M&S, Seasalt and Landsend so far...

Any ideas?

What’s your budget? I have a beautiful, classic Mackintosh. Fully waterproof and definitely smart for work, and will last for decades. It’s a below the knee, belted style. But they have quite a range of different styles.

Expensive but they have great sales - I think mine was about 40% off.

Thanks for hints. I'll have a look at ebay.
I think the macingtosh ones are too much, but they are what I am looking for. Reckon up to 200 ish
