You can get kits off Amazon. Pads soaked in acetone which you wrap on your nails and cover with kitchen foil. Around £7 for a huge pack.

File off the top layer first before soaking in acetone. Scrape away what has come off then resoak and repeat. Take your time and don't force off any lacquer that won't come away. I've ruined my nails plenty of times before so take it from me!

You need pure acetone or a remover that has at least 95% acetone

Using the rough side of a nail file, file away all the top shiny layer - do not go down to your natural nail

Place acetone on cotton wool then wrap nails in foil (or you can buy preformed wraps with cotton on)

Leave for 15-20 mins and see if Polish has lifted ready to be pushed off with a cuticle stock. If not, leave a few more minutes. Putting your hands in a warm towel or oven gloves speeds up the process

The mylee magic remover is incredible and means you don’t have to faff about with bits of tinfoil. Remember to file the surface of the gel before applying - after 5 minutes it just all cracks and you can peel it off with an orange stick
