Breastfeeding what I'm wearing today

Would anyone be interested in a thread a bit like the wonderful "what I'm wearing today" and the "plus size what I'm wearing today" threads which are both brilliant (but I've been too shy to post on)

I'm trying to find my fashionable self again but in the restrictive world of breast feeding friendly/post partum lumps and bumps covering world and would love to see and participate in a thread for inspo.

Anyone think this is a good idea?

Today, I'm in skinny jeans and a camel coloured merino wool cardigan. When out also a biker jacket in a waterproof fabric (not leather or faux leather) and a leopard print scarf.

My son usually doesn't want breastfeeding when we're out, but today he did - so we ended up on a park bench - and it was quite windy and raining a bit. It was cold.

I love this thread! Getting really bored of my clothes now, but I do have a few outfits I like.

Today was jeggings, H&M nursing vest and polka dot cotton boden jumper . Agree that one up one down is way easier in the colder weather!

I use a sling a lot and frustratingly one up one down is way more difficult in the sling. My faves then are dresses which can be pulled down or specific nursing tops.

Thanks for the Dungaree inspiration all!

@OhRosalind hey please come play to your hearts content! Sounds a lovely outfit!!

@Minesril what a lovely dress! I've bought a few things from new look maternity/nursing or normal but able to feed and all been good! I bought a comfy bra from them too when I was pregnant, but once my milk came in it was way too small!

@RiskIt4Biscuit that cardigan sounds lovely!

@Magpiefeather i am impressed at the feeding in the sling wizardry! I can barely get my bloody sling on!!

Today we had our jabs so I've been home all day. So I've been in leggings and a feeding vest from ASOS that is grey and long lined (to cover my now huge arse) and has nice lace detailing over the neckline so it's not too dull. Then a really thick chunky cream cardigan from new look which is so cosy! And my faithful ugg slippers.
And I've basically been wearing my LO all day as she has been super clingy bless her.

Hoping for a more glamorous day tomorrow haha!

Can I join too? I'm breastfeeding my second & decided to just wear whatever this time. I'm liking dungarees at the min & found some on Sainsburys website as they have a breastfeeding friendly section.
I'm intrigued how to feed easily wearing normal bras, please can someone explain! Do you just lift the bra up? As I guess it would be difficult to pull it down & it stay that way? I'm desperate to wear my own bras & feel normal as maternity ones aren't exactly the best!

RiskIt4Biscuit · 01/10/2020 12:21

Thanks Ginfilled. The cardigan is from Gap. Their merino wool tops are very nice and wash well too.

Regarding feeding in normal bras, I just pull the cup down/boob up. May not be great for the bra, but so be it.

Today, I'm in a dark green merino wool jumper (Gap) and a faux leather midi pencil skirt (Commando).

I like the clothing brand Apricot, they do lots of floaty but flattering tops and tunics that I wear over leggings or jeans. They're easy to just lift up to feed. And hot milk nursing bras!

I do miss wearing dresses though, I don't like buttons or wraps so am limited. DD is 20 months now though so only occasional feeds, it won't be for much longer I suppose!

Montgomerystubercles · 02/10/2020 11:48

It's taken me ages to find out what the brand was called as they don't have it printed on them but if anyone is after sports bras with Velcro down straps, the company is called Born Primitive.

WhatWouldPennyDo · 02/10/2020 12:26

Following this with interest, whilst I wait for our baby to arrive. Hoping to breastfeed but also to not live in pyjamas or leggings for the first 6 months!

Dowermouse · 02/10/2020 12:34

Linen button down shirt, long line vest top, normal underworld bra and skinny jeans here. Been breastfeeding nearly 7 years continuously (you know what I mean, certainly felt like it some times!)
Theoretically I could open a couple of buttons in the middle of the shirt and pull my bra and vest down, but in reality I just FOO (flop one out).
I'm working hard on loosing the baby weight, witch is just plain obesity now my ds is 3, when I do I'm going to treat myself to some denim dungarees from Sea Salt if they still do them.

RiskIt4Biscuit · 02/10/2020 13:34

Skinny jeans and camel coloured merino wool turtleneck, both from Gap.
Wide silver hammered cuff and a silver necklace with a blue pendant (both Georg Jensen) that my toddler keeps grabbing (may have to take it off but maybe he'll lose interest).

Ginfilledcats · 02/10/2020 18:27

Sounds like another day of lovely outfits! I haven't braved jewellery yet @RiskIt4Biscuit as my 4m old is grabby lol

Today I went to a mum and baby exercise class so I squeezed into some Tesco yoga pants, and then a baggy addidas T-shirt. Used my usual feeding bra: big mistake - boobs were flying all o er the place, surprised I didn't give myself a black eye!

Anyone any sports bra recommendations?

Then after I stuck black skinny jeans on, vest top and black snd mustard stripes jumper. Jeans quickly replaced with Abercrombie joggers after our walk!!

The milk and muscle....

I like it although Velcro straps aren't my favourite, and I've never understood padded sports bras - surely that's just going to make your boobs even sweater?? But the pads are removable.

Not strictly what I’m wearing today, but have just ordered this dungaree / pinafore dress. Planning to wear it with a warm long sleeved top, thick tights and black boots and my leather biker jacket on top. Should be versatile- can wear with a short sleeved tee and white trainers in summer.
It’s been years since I bought something from Topshop! Used to live in their stuff when I was younger.
