3 Weeks to look from drab to somewhat fab?

Hi all,

I've seen a few posts similar to this so thought I'd ask away too!

I have 3 weeks as of tomorrow to do a complete overhaul. I have a small wedding event which I am due to attend (max of 15). Currently, I feel meh about how I look so much so, the thought of attending fills me with dread.

WFH, lockdown and generally feeling pretty grim about how things are has definitely taken its toll.

Any tips on how to spruce myself up over the coming days? I've booked onto a gym class tomorrow and will finally be making use of my membership. I also plan on having lots of water and cutting out sugar.

Much appreciated Smile

My suggestions would be have your eyebrows shaped. If blond lashes dyed.
Manicure.
Haircut.
I love a new outfit and clothes to make me feel good.

Sounds boring but lots of water and lots of sleep. Teeth whitener if teeth yellow. A glowing complexion and nice smile goes a long way 👌

No booze or sugar between now and then
Plenty of water, fresh air and sleep
Daily exercise including yoga/stretch
Nails, hair, eyebrows
Facial if you can in the next couple of days
Decent underwear
Outfit you feel great in

Getting your hair done

Lash extensions, trip to hairdresser and nails done. That trio is my go to for a wedding or event. I feel polished.

Definitely lots of water, sleep and movement too.

Teeth whitener is a good suggestion.
Crest whitening strips are brilliant.

Get your hair cut and coloured, eyebrows shaped and tinted, manicure closer to the time

Tricky without knowing you or your budget.
I am in a similar situation and this is what I am doing/planning to do:

  • plenty of water
  • cut caffeine and sugar as much as possible
  • moderate diet (few pounds really make a difference on my face and waist)
  • exercise: 1 HIIT class, 1 body pump, 1 pilates + running 3 times a week. I only just restarted this routine after 2 years (pregnant/small baby etc) and LOVE it. I want now to try and be consistent also with taking a daily walk or run
  • I upped by skin cleaning routine to double cleanse in the evening and sonic scrubber in the morning, plus Vitamin C, glycolic acid and I retinol. My complexion is improving a lot.
  • I booked a lash lift and a facial for few days before the event (I have lash lifts regularly, they open my eyes a lot and the effect is very natural vs fake lashes).
  • I booked the hairdresser for the day before but I am already using some great Kerastase products to keep them moisturized and nourished
  • I bought some whitening strips (I do a course every year, I am not trying something new)
  • over the last few months I tried some new make up and found that shaping my eyebrows and applying a bright concealer really make me look less tired

You need to be fully happy with your outfit and it needs to fit properly. Do you already have something?

The egg and grapefruit diet really works - it’s a week of pain but stick to it religiously and you’ll lose at least half a stone. Don’t do it for more than a week though, I know it’s faddy but it’s a quick fix.

Facial gradual tanner works, makes my make up look better. Same again for body gradual tanner, just a coat a day for the 3 days before you go. I like the tan luxe drops that you can add to your own products.

Not sure if they’re still doing it, but a MAC make over is great - just take along a picture of a look you really like. The cost is refundable against product purchases.

Mani & pedi (matching) day before you go.

Treat yourself to a lovely perfume to wear on the day too.
