Makeup for someone whose never worn it?

As the title says really. Where do I start?

I'm late 20s but I've never worn it so don't know where to start. My mum doesn't wear make up so can't ask her.

I only want product names, not necessarily brands unless someone can recommend something good thats not overly expensive.

I want to stay looking natural but hide spots/tiredness so something I can wear occasionally but also everyday if it's needed (single parent).

Something for sensitive skin as I suspect my 6 year old will want to play around in the house with it.

Sounds like you just need concealer tbh. The long ones with a wand are usually best for under your eyes. The ones in a little pot tend to be too heavy under the eyes.

Just go into Boots or Superdrug and pick one in your budget- honestly they're much of a muchness these days. Everyone likes tbe Collection 2000 Lasting Finish one and the Revolution one. But not a vast amount of difference between them.

Honestly, I'd go to a Bobbi Brown or Laura Mercier counter and ask them to make recommendations. If you have never worn make up, you will need help choosing colours/shades. Most of us went through years of experimentation as teens and have the embarrassing photos to prove it Smile. If you want to skip the 'What was I thinking?' stage, you need professional help.

I recommend Bobbi Brown and Laura Mercier because the staff are professional, excellent at colour-matching, and not overly pushy. You do not have to buy everything they recommend - they will not expect you to. Buy 1 or 2 things. They will write down everything they use, and you can use this as a template to check out other brands.

When i started wearing makeup, i started with 3 products.

BB cream- get a bb cushion (laneige/erborian/missha). takes 5 secs to pat all over face. a bit of cream blush for cheeks

Eyeliner- liquid one from loreal. A slick of mascara,

Tinted lip balm

I wear very little make up and am not particularly interested in it, but what I do every morning is put on mascara (Boots No.5), and put on lipstick. It is enough to make me look brighter, without taking much time, money or making be feel like a have lots of stuff on my face (I have a bit of a thing about that). I suggest that as a good place to start and see if you want to develop from there of if that is enough for you.

Sorry, I meant Boots No.7. Got my numbers mixed up...

I also get my eyebrows waxed and tinted. I think it makes a big difference to how I look.
