Warm winter dresses

I got two dresses from the Next Tall range a couple of years ago, but they’re looking a bit scruffy now.

Has anyone seen anything that ticks the boxes below? I’d like something warm, comfortable but reasonably smart for working from home but haven’t found anything as yet. The last two were a revelation with woolly tights/leggings after years of sitting at a desk for hours each day massively uncomfortable in jeans!

Ideally would be:-

Natural fibre
Machine washable
Long sleeve
“Plain” (no fussy collars, flappy neck ties, belts which will dig in or be in the wrong place)
Not £££

Thank you!

Esprit have some really nice unfussy knit dresses, in a cotton/viscose mix. They wash and wear really well, and are very comfy! I bought a few last year, after recommendation on here and was really impressed with the quality.

Depending on budget Whistles can be good for this. 20% off everything at the moment.
E.g.

I was thinking about this today coincidentally! Going to have a browse and if I find anything will report back!

justawoman · 22/09/2020 18:03

Uniqlo have some lovely wool dresses. I live in them in the winter, with thick tights and boots.

BestIsWest · 22/09/2020 18:20

I have this Seasalt?

I have a similar one from last year which has been great.

Oly4 · 22/09/2020 19:14

I got this in navy and it looks good on, though the frills might be too much for you. White Co also had some

I like Joe Browns for dresses and tunics.

I have eye on this m.patra.com/products/NCD/cable-knit-cotton-dress

GibbertyFlibbet · 22/09/2020 19:43

Thank you, so many brilliant suggestions!

(Feeling a bit Blush that I didn’t (a) think of some of these myself and (b) know Seasalt had a tall range!)

Seasalt was my first thought...comfortable but stylish. Hush dresses might be worth a look...

Jaeger used to be brilliant for these.

tippytappywriter · 24/09/2020 08:19

I gave a couple from Uniqlo that are super warm and get lots of wear over Autumn/Winter. Also gave a lovely thick jersey dress, boat-neck long sleeves from H&M which was very reasonable and washes brilliantly. When weather gets very cold I wear heattech tops and tights to be really cosy.

LifeInAHamsterWheel · 24/09/2020 18:31

Ugh, HAVE not gave!

Londoner99 · 24/09/2020 19:37

Cos is my go to for 100% wool dresses. I think I saw some on Arket's website too.
