if I love my fjallraven kanken, but want to upgrade..

I love my fjallraven kanken- it's light and packs loads in- I LOVE the way it fully opens up like a little suitcase- but it doesn't look very smart- I'm looking for something similar In size and shape- especially the way it opens but something with a bit more of a luxe feel- tried Knomo- they are nice but not quite handbaggy enough if you know what I mean. I'd like to use this backpack for work but also at weekends (doesn't need to carry a laptop) I have an A4 size ipad/MacBook thingy so it fits in most normal handbags

Laquila I know what you mean about why there are not more in that style! it's so perfect to have a zip round that opens fully- there are some on Amazon that are kanken shape and zipround, but with more pockets so I fancied one of those, but again a bit too casual, canvas and like you say what every 16 year old has!
Have looked at Nordace but again, the fabric is either 'worky' nylon or too casual canvas. I think the Fossil one is nice, and the john lewis one too- but neither are quite 'the one' yet!

I have a nordace sienna and love it. I think there are others on the website that open the whole way around

ooh coffee that's nice- I'm not sure about how it goes so narrow at the top- but the opening and the internal pockets are good- will definitely bookmark that website

sasuma that's nice, will investigate that as not sure it is quite big enough as tapered at top

Laquila I think I might have found something
What do you think of this?
I love the shape- but am never sure about black leather- I normally prefer a brown handbag

Have a look in the men's sections on websites for leather backpacks. They tend to look more functional but the hardware, leather and pockets tend to be better thought out. Also they are usually considerably cheaper than the female equivalent.
